Basic Doll poses for beginners

Just writing an article on basic doll posing to help make them look as human as possible.

If you have any questions to address, please feel free. Article will be complete in the next few days as there will be lots of brand new pictures for it.

Joe Bin could use a little advice on how to get my back to bend. When ever he tries, my hips give out first.
Now since he has read about some dolls backs breaking, he is afraid to try too hard.

A word of warning. Don't be tempted to bend joints to their limits as this may result in the joints becoming weakened or the TPE/silicon splitting.
Teddy Babes can be have the wires snap through excessive bending. A simple pose like this one of Nicole with a thumb carefully positioned in a pocket can add a touch of reailsm.

If doing a photo shoot slightly move the positions of the arms and legs and slightly alter the position of the head for realism.
The use of props including your girl wearing glasses can also add something.

Eating and drinking can offer additional opportunities such as Bailey-Jane on Christmas Day.

The early morning coffee is also good for a little scantily dressed stuff!

and finally there is always the complete photoshop!

One of the easiest poses for me is just sitting in a chair.

Posing sitting down might be good for you older girls with bad knees.

Beware sitting dolls down in dark trousers or skirts, putting weight on fabric risks staining the bum or thighs very badly.

I test all of my dark clothes for colorfastness. But I also wear a white satin polyester slip just to be safe.

Very wise for such a young girl. I have a track record of bad luck with dark clothes.

Also worth knowing, i did get better :) it just takes a week or two then fades.

tight elastic stocking tops, brutal. Doesn't take much on pale skinned TPE to stain.

It got me and I am silicone :(

Benzoyl Peroxide (acne cream) works miracles for those "Oh Shits."

It may take a few repeat applications but in the one time I got a pretty nasty surprise but Benzoyl Peroxide did the trick. You could still see a light shadow and I thought "that was that." But a week later, it totally disappeared on its own.

So now I always take precautions, but I am not paranoid about permanent staining either.

My girls aways had tights and a top under colourful clothes.

Tip 1) Don't automatically dismiss shots from behind.

Tip 2) Pianos offer a wealth of opportunity for a large variety of interesting poses.

like the seating pose

It is always worth considering the S shape pose :)

Just don't let the nuns see you standing like that. They would tell you, "Stand up straight."

They might even hit your knuckles with a ruler.

I usually just hand Julia an object and she poses with it, but I still haven't been able to get her waist to bend.

When photographing from behind just sneak up with your camera when there not looking, Here we have Suzanne`s splendid rear end.
