Photographic Grey

A new loco for the narrow gauge fleet is this U class 0-6-2T in photographic grey.

Seen on shed.

The new loco was employed on the annual St. Stephen's Day special.

Choo... Choo... 🚂

Looks nice , wonder what it performs like ? Maybe the European lot have it sorted
the best one here is Peco/Kato Prince , all my Bachmann offerings are crap at haulage .

It is a good runner and can cope easily with five of my little narrow gauge four-wheeler coaches.

Having recently acquired a new Liliput/Bachmann 0-6-2T I found that I have seven serviceable engines of the type plus two that don't work.
Liliput started making them in the 1970s, if not earlier, and in more recent times Bachmann acquired Liliput and continue to produce them. Some I have bought new but others were acquired second hand.

I think that this is one of the earliest having heavy plastic motion.

Then they put a driver in the cab in light blue uniform.

Also available in dark blue!

Then the ones that I bought new.

Then my favourite used on special trains.

...and finally the grey one.

I also have the 0-6-0T from the Waldenburgerbahn which I recently re-motored.

The loco that eludes me depicts a line in Italy from Trieste to Parenzo which is called Porec today and is now in Croatia.
It was only sold in a set with five coaches/wagons and is very rare. I have only ever seen one once. It is only featured in one
catalogue out of six vintage ones that I have.

Nice collection , we are going to scratch/bodge a White Pass loco will post later .

Do Graham Farish still exist? When I was a young lad I had a Graham Farish train set.

If I had the money and the room I would like to recreate part of The Brighton and South Coast Railway from Christ Hospital school down to shoreham. It's now called The Downs Link, a public bridleway and footpath. They even left the old station up for many years when I lived in Southwater

It was one of those hit by the Beeching act in the 60s

Graham Farish is now part of Bachmann , and has come forward in both scale and quality over the years

Now Christ's Hospital would be a splendid station to model. Steam on the Guildford line, push & pull on the Shoreham line and electric units on the main line.

Well Christ Hospital used to be a bigger station than it is today, it's more like a halt these days. Apparantly they have created a new path, that was part of the original rail route.

When I walked the Downs link you had to come off the link when you got to Christ Hospital and walk on the side of the road to rejoin the line.

I have walked all the way from Southwater to Shoreham, it took a good few hours, but I enjoyed it. I tried walking the other way, but got a bit lost, as the line kind of disappears at Bramley
