Some new passenger coaches

I recently acquired two Egger Bahn coaches which were different to my existing one in having yellow window frames and a different type of balcony. They were also made in green livery.

As usual loco No.5 is always ready with the break-down train. Never know when it might be needed!

Them is super carriage’s ,mr track has been doing some repairs around the house but we will soon be modelling again 😁

Well Theas catching a special train with sleeper carriages soon, can you guess which one? It runs from a station in London and takes 7.5 hours to get to its destination😊

Hi mr bobby , it’s a AC cars rail bus , introduced by British railways to help with money loosing branch lines but it was too late as motor car transport was taking over , also in mr tracks photo the model in the centre is like the one in your photo , model kit by Anbrico of Pudsey Leeds , the one on the right is a model kit by Airfix (now Dapol) then the one on the left is by Hejen , in real life of German manufacture by Wagon and Machinbrau (pronounciation?) by far the better rail cars at the time , they tried them near us on the Alston branch , but complications with Royal Mail as they was no locked storage , so a second railcar-was attached , this then meant a post office worker had to travel on the train on the branch and come back with collected mail on the next train , fair enough but been single line with one train in shuttle service , both BR and the post office would not agree to pay postman wages whilst waiting , so BR re introduced the class 108 and 101 diesel multi pull units as these units had lockable storage in the gaurds van . So now post man loaded train at Haltwhistle , locked mail , and postman from Alston collected .

Here we see the railbus (left) and the bubble car (right). The problem with the rail bus is that it cannot cope on Saturdays and I have to turn out a 1400 with an auto trailer.

Do you guys have a separate room for your layouts? Just wondered how much space they took up.

Are they big layouts? I think I mentioned when I was a lot younger I had a Graham Farish N gauge layout. I think it was designed for those with limited space.

I suspect it can be an expensive hobby?

I have three layouts in one room. The OO gauge seen above is on top of filing cabinets, the HOe is on top of a very large book case and the HO gauge tramway is on a table. The N gauge trams live in the kitchen. They are not large as some layouts go. They are seriously expensive model railways not the Tri-ang children's toys of the 1950s!

Mr dongo , your rail bus is far superior than mr tracks white metal kit but it is from the 1970’s
Also our class 101 has just had a re vamp now a 4 car unit ,it’s the old 1960’s Tri-ang offering .

Mr bobby model trains is getting expensive nowadays , but a loco average £175 today’s wage in comparison, 1960’s loco average price £5 but weekly wage was average £10 , so thank god for Christmas and birthdays 😁

Oh sorry to hear that Carly. I think I get it. You were trying to remind Setrack on the forum, not necessarily us. Maybe he was just busy and has something nice lined up for you or is going to surprise you!
