That's an insane level of price reduction, Kimber standard similarly.There's gotta be a catch; like there's gonna be a Kimber Doll Super in 12 months and they're shifting old stock or something. It took them over a year to shift enough old Standard model stock before putting the Deluxe on sale in the UK after bigging her up on TDF the year before; even then, kimberdoll.eu didn't offer Deluxe at all as of early this year. Now the EU site is offline and ping reports the domain as myshopify.com. Call me a cynic, but this seems murky as hell and far too good to be true :(

Well good for you guys, but here in Canada they just keep putting the price up. The Deluxe is now $1599.00 +shopping.
That puts her close to two grand, which is too much for my budget for now.

Sorry to hear that, it seems strange that the UK price has dropped so dramatically and yet the Canadian prices have risen - is that something to do with import fees perhaps?

Yes, import fees and tariffs.

Import fees, tariffs, higher shipping costs, and also the Canadian dollar isn't worth much at all these days.
Kimber is not having any special sale in Canada ether like they apparently are in the UK.

Double checked US and AU; no sale in AU, sale in US, but only $100 off Deluxe; however, $200 off standard. Deluxe is sold out in AU, no mention of when new stock coming. The plot thickens. Surely they are not going bust?

Who knows,they do seem to be keeping pretty quiet these days. They also quit participating on TDF a while back.

Gawd hope their company is OK as it's such a great doll. Everyone seems to have at least one!

I wrote to Kimber Doll about the sale price in the UK, wondering whether they had a new model coming out or if they were going out of business and this was the reassuring reply I received:

The price reduction is related to our inventory - our logistics partner is moving warehouse soon so we are looking to move some stock to help reduce what needs to be moved.

That sounds encouraging. I was thinking I might have to look at other manufacturers when the time comes that I may need a replacement body.
That time shouldn't come too soon though, as we are being vary gentle with my original body.

Jed did think he might have to do the same, but he’s relieved now that he doesn’t have to. The problem is, our colour seems to be very different to any other doll body, and finding something to match might be very difficult.

It sounds plausible. Though if XPO are moving to new warehouses then surely that's nothing to do with KD, who are their customer? And the amount of discount is still unusually high. Just have to wait and see, I guess.

If this seems paranoid, it's because recent experiences have caused me to doubt anything corporations say; right now if most business told me that 1+1=2 I wouldn't believe them :p

I wonder if the “logistics partner” also actually provides warehousing and holds stock for Kimber. This would make some sort of sense as Kimber is sold as a std lady with no options so hundreds of “her” could be sitting in a warehouse awaiting their future……

And judging by the state of the box that my Kimber came in, I think quite a lot of stock is probably sitting outside the warehouse too

Yes, they do. XPO Logistics are the warehouse and shipping people. I've had two brand new Kimber dolls and XPO are the guys who handled them. They have a fleet of liveried vans, but for end user deliveries, they hire whatever random Uber reject or man with a van they can, which is why things don't often go too well :( Review here.
