I appreciate everyone writes with a bias when they write about products and that’s something I’m consciously trying not to do during this review, it’s face value as they present. I still think there isn’t enough consumer protection when it comes to buying dolls so, I thought I would start a no holes barred discussion on the various manufacturers and specific dolls I’ve owned, these are my own personal opinion as a consumer and, please do not confuse this as a manufacturer bashing thread, this is quite the opposite. Ultimately manufacturers determine the price point their product sells for on the market and, by doing this, they pitch their products against others in the same price point.
I’m in a fortunate position where I currently own two 2024/5 models that are pitched around the same price point to consumers which means I can do a comparable review for both products. I will point out, my Zelex153B SLE 2.0 (Rachel) was purchased new by me and, the WM160A SSTPE (Olivia) I’m reviewing is roughly 5 months old and was a virgin photography doll purchased new by that owner, they’re roughly both a similar age and, the SLE cost me just £220 more than the WM160A cost the previous owner.
Now I’m not a Zelex SLE virgin, I own 2 first generation SLE’s, a 165D (Charlotte) & 171C (Abby/Lauren), I also own a 6YE Premium 166A (Holly) TPE doll.
WM160A Intro - I’ve wanted Olivia for a few years, she is the WM160A, when ordering my first doll from Cloud Climax I selected the 160A as the one I wanted but, they had a 157B in UK stock which I went for instead so, I knew one day I would get my hands on a 160A of my own. The body sculpt is exceptional which makes her a joy to gaze at. The whole point of getting the 160A was to photograph her with Holly, my 166A 6YE TPE doll. I love paired photography and, putting a TPE next to an SLE just doesn’t work, for reasons I’ll cover below.
Quality - now it would be unfair for me to base this as an out of the box delivery experience for the WM Doll because, she was owned by someone else for 5 months so, I will omit any pimples/dimples, packing creases and such like from the WM’s review. What I will include is her ridiculously loose ankle joint, which I now know was 100% a manufacturing issue because I’ve performed the repair surgery on this today, the reason I know this is manufacturing is because the bolt hadn’t been tightened on her right ankle, it was barely threaded on and, had the webbing tape wrapped around it by the factory so, this must’ve passed quality control despite being extremely loose. When lifted, the whole foot swayed at will over a 180 degree rotation, only limited by the TPE itself but, because the TPE was preventing this from going a full 360 degrees, it proves the bolt could not have become unscrewed after the doll was made. There was absolutely no TPE separation from the skeleton either, the repair was actually hindered by the adhesion the TPE had with the metal.
Review Components:
SS-TPE in light tan - this is very very soft, supple and squishy, sadly it doesn’t resemble human tissue because it’s simply too jelly like. When you grip the arms you can feel straight through to the skeleton. It retains warmth better than my 6YE TPE doll though so, if you like a doll to cuddle, this might be a good choice. The light tan aspect does show dirt very very quickly so, cleaning hands is an absolute must and I would never use dark clothing on this doll, she’s white, cream, light grey and light pink only. When I say cleaning hands, I have a pack of wipes next to her and, make sure to wipe my hands before I touch her at all.
WM Breathing function - I was really excited to see this in operation, it’s a free offer from WM and I really thought this was going to be a realism game changer. The first complaint is a ridiculous one because, the supplied plug isn’t suitable for UK sockets despite WM knowing this was being shipped to a UK buyer, eventually I used it in a shavers only adapter. Whilst watching the chest rise and fall is quite nice and therapeutic, it’s blighted by the compressor buzz when filling followed by a loud hiss when expelling, the system sounds more like a human on life support than a human breathing independently and this is not shown on any of the WM advertising videos, I expected a small amount of noise but, this is so loud it over rides any benefit, sadly as innovations go, this one really isn’t that much of a step forward which I found disappointing because, it was one I had high hopes for.
WM speaker box - the finish around the speaker box is absolutely terrible, the top part of the oval looks great but, it’s been poorly glued on the bottom half so, you can see the chewed edges of the TPE, again a manufacturing issue. The speaker box has 6 or 7 voices, with no volume control, it’s not voice interactive but senses touch. Adjusting a bra even in a minor way has the doll yelling content such as “oh yeah” and an excited “don’t stop” but, when you actually engage in anything physical with her she barely works and, the unadjustable volume of this makes it prohibitive.
Jitter Bum/Butt - this is controlled by the speaker box and is again hit and miss but, given the issues with the speaker box volume, it’s likely to be an unused feature for me. The idea great, reality sadly not so great. The only way to use her without your neighbours hearing the cheesy porn style voices is to plug headphones into the jack plug on the speaker box.
Eyes - the eyes in WM are still none mechanical and, are still packed with acrylic wadding behind them, something I really hoped WM had changed but, they’re just standard doll eyes.
Head - Olivia is head 414, she does look like the advertised photos which is a massive bonus and, she’s a real cutie but, the moulded smile is still skin tone which makes her face look quite odd because who has skin coloured teeth.
Hands 3.0 skeleton - these are a master piece, the movement range, finger design and shape are all stunningly engineered.
Feet - as mentioned, one foot was almost unattached, after this was repaired she had standing feet but, it’s the metal domed head hex bolts which I’ve now replaced for the much better plastic tipped ones as they prevent damage to the delicate TPE. Toes are still only a wire on the big toe with the remaining 4 just being floppy.
Make up - the body make up is a nice touch from WM, seeing the blue tone of a vein or artery and the darker pigmentation around joints is done very well. The French tipped finger nails are done very well but? The silver toe nails look to have been slapped on without much care or attention. The areola colouring was selected as “light brown” which looks absolutely perfect against the light tan body, it’s still got a pinky colour and just looks right, very human like rather than an awful bright pink.
V & A cavities and gel chest - (keeping this PG), whilst the external view of a nice neat V is inviting sadly, the SSTPE doesn’t fair well here at all because there’s very little feeling or sensation, there’s very little feedback from either entrance because the SSTPE just gives way without any real resistance. Reaching inside either doesn’t really feel any different to the external touch, there’s no additional bumps or notches so, the experience lacks any kind of realism for me. Where she does excel is, both cavities stretch but, shrink back. The gel chest on the other hand is again a masterpiece, they feel very very real to the touch and, you can’t actually feel the gel bag under the skin which is a vast improvement when compared to a WM 157B I used to own.
Summary on the WM160A: it’s a beautiful sculpture, the proportions are life like and there’s been improvements with things like the hand skeleton, body detailing and painting but, the technical additions WM have added are quite poor in reality, they lack finesse and while they’re supposed to replicate human features, they sadly fall wide of the mark. To buy this doll, with these features from Cloud Climax today would be £1658.99, please note this does include the £300 Cloud Climax charge (£150 of this is customs duty), with a further £49.99 levied by cloud climax for delivery to your doorstep. Zelex SLE 153B Intro - having owned and adored my 165D, I knew Zelex had absolutely nailed it and, as my tastes are more aligned to small breasted, shorter petite women, the 153B was a doll I just had to own, I also purchased when Zelex were offering a free second head which meant I could order another head for my 171C, I had selected the ZXE216 with her but, always wanted to see the ZXE203 which I secured for free. I was also pleased to try out the revised 2.0 version of the SLE.
Review Components:
SLE 2.0 body - as mentioned, Rachel is a 153B but, she’s the second generation (2.0) SLE and, the first thing you notice in comparison to first generation is the softness, she’s noticeable softer than my existing dolls. She has a realistic touch when compressing the skin but, there’s more resistance/drag from the 2.0 version when brushing it lightly with your hand. Rachel, like both SLE’s before arrived without any severe damage but, she does have a couple of dimples in places over her body, these are around the joints mainly and are very small. Another major 2.0 improvement is the lack of joins between the wrists/forearm and ankles/legs, on my first generation dolls this is quite noticeable. As she’s tan and SLE, you can get away with darker underwear on her for a short period of time which, is a game changer compared to TPE dolls.
Eyes - as with all SLE’s, Rachel arrived with mechanical eyes, both function well and include some small red lines to add that detailing you’d see in a real eye. One massive negative of the SLE is the lack of customisation, whilst I understand this with significant features, I really don’t understand how nominating an eye colour on an order isn’t possible or, more expensive but, it’s a lottery as to what eye colour she’ll have when she arrives. It is possible to buy colour specific eyes, I reached out to Zelex and purchased 3 pairs of blue eyes directly from them.
Head - my order had a free second head, I received heads ZXE224 which is Rachel’s main head and, ZXE203 which became Abby’s head on the 171C body. I did this to test the variation between a first generation body and second generation head and, I’m pleased to say it works without issue. A massive improvement of the 2.0 heads is smaller teeth, these allow the jaw to close further which means there’s no exposed teeth on show like with the first generation or WM doll and, unlike the WM, they’re perfect white with ROS. If you’re a kisser, you’ll be pleased to know the lips are noticeably softer on the 2.0 SLE meaning the kiss is actually pleasant and isn’t that far off a real one because the lips actually give you feedback based on the motion of yours. The overall detailing on SLE heads is breathtakingly beautiful, they’re little works of art and really do simulate human looks.
Hands - sadly this is where I feel Zelex need to make some improvements, the WM 3.0 hand design is superior and, the hands feel more adult on the WM in comparison to the very small hands on the Zelex SLE, this complaint existed on my first generation SLE’s too. The finger articulation is very similar to WM’s though but, the thumbs are more advanced on the WM hand. One drawback to very slender fingers is finger pokes will be more common, both my first generation SLE’s have finger pokes and, I suspect Rachel will join that club eventually. It’s inevitable when dressing them but, thicker fingers would help reduce this risk.
Feet - Rachel has standing feet with nylon tipped foot bolts as standard making her an easy doll to manipulate around and, she stands without issue. The toes are identical to the set up as WM, big toe is wired with the remaining 4 floppy however, because they’re silicone rather than TPE, they don’t snag under the foot as much.
Make up - as with the WM and the other SLE’s Rachel has veins and other make up added to simulate real skin. Zelex has done a fantastic job of this and there’s more detailing on the Zelex when compared to the WM.
V & A cavities and gel chest & bum - starting with a negative here but, the external V appearance isn’t as good as the WM or, as good as the 171C I own. Unfortunately Zelex have made this doll with labia which eventually snags and tears so, my personal preference is as little labia as possible, my 165D has also done this. Another thing I don’t like is the gel bum, whilst it’s fantastic to look at, my oldest SLE has required two repairs now to her rear, the gel has caused issues which eventually split with usage, this doesn’t appear to be happening on my 2.0 version but, she’s stored in skin tight crop tops and shorts to prevent her gel areas from drooping. Her gel boobs are a bit of a strange tear drop shape but, this is actually a masterpiece because it allow you to squeeze a cleavage with them when she has a bra on. The V cavity is lined with sensory nodes, all of which feels extremely similar to the real thing. The A cavity doesn’t have much about it but, it’s still an enjoyable experience.
Summary on the SLE2 153B: she is achingly beautiful, I honestly could sit and stare at her for hours on end. She feels engaging when you’re using her for gratification and, she’s a pleasure to own and maintain. Verdict - for me personally, the visual experience with any doll is as important as the tactile one and, the winner in that case is Zelex.
I also think my SLE will be in far better condition when she reaches a year old than the WM, when I compare the WM to my 18 month old 165D, I actually think they compare which is quite shocking given the age difference. The technical innovations from WM are unfortunately poor, I was really excited by the breathing function but, the reality is a lot of noise did not a huge amount of difference, the same applies to the jitter bum and, the biggest frustration is, there’s no revised instructions that actually show you how to use these features so, its a discovery mission to get them to work.
I fully understand the SLE is £240 more than the WM but, even if it was double that, I’d still opt for the SLE, she lacks the technical innovations WM created but, she really doesn’t need them as her beauty carries her, she’s a simulation of a human which gives you all the captivating you need.
As I write this I’m quite frustrated by WM, I’ve absolutely wanted the 160A for a long time and it’s a big disappointment because, it’s just the same as my previous 157B, WM have clearly been a market leader for some time and, they’re hunting out innovative technology for dolls but what they haven’t done is improve the flaws I found on my previous WM dolls and, they’ve done absolutely nothing to give more realism or longevity. Zelex have gone down a different path and improved their product making the best possible doll the could for this price point but, it’s clear they’ve caught WM out. If I’m more honest, if id paid the full price for the WM, I’d be very upset and feel like I’d made the wrong choice, they’ve got the price point for the WM completely wrong as it compares closer to my £600 new price 6YE doll than the £1800 Zelex, the WM does have a superior skeleton over the 6YE but, I can’t see how this warrants a £900 increase in price.
I’m absolutely not saying the WM is a terrible doll, shes still got a charm, her body sculpture is stunning, she’s a lovely weighted doll and, her hands are perfect but, where I am frustrated is the price point she’s aimed at and, I really think WM could’ve made some significant changes to their TPE range if they wanted to stay at the £1500+ price point and, this is where the problem is when compared to a doll within the same price point. The Zelex is 14% more expensive than the WM but, this £240 extra is a small price to pay for the difference between them.

Pro’s:
- Her overall appearance is lifelike and beautiful, she’s a mini work of art.
- High quality materials used to build her, this is evident in the longevity of the SLE range and, the touch and feel.
- Noticeably softer to touch and more like human skin.
- Mechanical eyes make for some very realistic photo opportunities.
- Her tan appearance means I can use darker clothing and underwear without fear of staining.
Cons:
- No customisation whatsoever.
- Slender fingers which make finger pokes more likely.
- Softer 2.0 SLE is more prone to marks and indentations.
Verdict - for me personally, the visual experience with any doll is as important as the tactile one and, the winner in that case is Zelex.

The technical innovations from WM are unfortunately poor, I was really excited by the breathing function but, the reality is a lot of noise did not a huge amount of difference, the same applies to the jitter bum and, the biggest frustration is, there’s no revised instructions that actually show you how to use these features so, its a discovery mission to get them to work.
I fully understand the SLE is £240 more than the WM but, even if it was double that, I’d still opt for the SLE, she lacks the technical innovations WM created but, she really doesn’t need them as her beauty carries her, she’s a simulation of a human which gives you all the captivating you need.
As I write this I’m quite frustrated by WM, I’ve absolutely wanted the 160A for a long time and it’s a big disappointment because, it’s just the same as my previous 157B, WM have clearly been a market leader for some time and, they’re hunting out innovative technology for dolls but what they haven’t done is improve the flaws I found on my previous WM dolls and, they’ve done absolutely nothing to give more realism or longevity. Zelex have gone down a different path and improved their product making the best possible doll the could for this price point but, it’s clear they’ve caught WM out. If I’m more honest, if id paid the full price for the WM, I’d be very upset and feel like I’d made the wrong choice, they’ve got the price point for the WM completely wrong as it compares closer to my £600 new price 6YE doll than the £1800 Zelex, the WM does have a superior skeleton over the 6YE but, I can’t see how this warrants a £900 increase in price.
I’m absolutely not saying the WM is a terrible doll, shes still got a charm, her body sculpture is stunning, she’s a lovely weighted doll and, her hands are perfect but, where I am frustrated is the price point she’s aimed at and, I really think WM could’ve made some significant changes to their TPE range if they wanted to stay at the £1500+ price point and, this is where the problem is when compared to a doll within the same price point. The Zelex is 14% more expensive than the WM but, this £240 extra is a small price to pay for the difference between them.
