Inspired by Mr Franz's textile adventures, my blank canvas has arrived!

I've ordered two different full head silicon masks, eyes and nipples. Depending on the quality and colour match of masks (they're cheap) I may follow your lead and go the internal polystyrene internal head.

The mask route is easier. Meiki fabric is foam backed and a pain to work with.

Thanks, very useful. I wonder if it's possible to delaminate the foam? I'm hoping this will match the colour, it's full head so an easy option:

Well the foam backing ads strength and a bit of cushion to the fabric. It is rather tedious to work with, but I wouldn't recommend trying to remove it. The edges are sewn down pretty tight and appear to have been heat fused to the fabric. The biggest problem I had with it, was trying to form it to the Styrofoam head with it still sewn to the body. If I had to do it again, I think I'd remove the head altogether and use the fabric from the backside of the head to stretch around the face of the Styrofoam form. Similar to the way I made the faces for my Valentina Girls.

All that aside though, that mask actually looks pretty close to the Meiki's skin tone. That might just work. 👍

Hi Keith, I have all the bits, mask, eyes, eyelashes (then discovered the mask already has eyelashes), even bought pubic hair. Alas, zero progress, the doll is quite pleasing as it is, out of the box. I love the texture of the fabric, it feels quite warm and skin like. The weight of less than 5Kg makes it the perfect night cuddle. So no incentive to mod her ( haven't even named her!). As my Textile Doll from Latvia has just cleared customs I'll very soon be very preoccupied with her. 😊
