Aiko hasn’t forgiven me

I’ve read on here posts asking what to do when utility people or friends visit the house. Some hide their girls, others are past caring what people think. Being only a month in to Aiko and I being together, and still pretty sure no one would understand me having her (or that they would jump to other conclusions) so when a plumber was due to arrive yesterday, I placed her carefully and gently (she would probably disagree with that) in my wardrobe.
Since then, despite apologising to her many times, I feel from looking at her face, she hasn’t forgiven me. Am I going mad?
I bought her some more clothes this morning hoping to appease her.
BTW, the bloody plumber didn’t turn up 😡

Nah, you're not going mad. Dolls can evoke real human emotion. Many is the time I've thought mine were unhappy over something or another. That's why I never bother to hide mine. They don't like it. 😊

I’m pretty sure you’re correct. Neither of us didn’t like it. Only I wasn’t in the wardrobe 😂

Dolls reflect your personality and add a bit of their own. You're fine, Engineer, you're just becoming closer to your doll. That's normal. Dolls can't speak so they sooth you over time.;)

Thank you Keithallen. Yes, it’s still all very new for me. I’m enjoying her company, which was and is the whole point of her being here. She’s adorable

Who cares what utility people think, right? They aren't usually assiated with your family or friends (unless one recommended them)?

I had a plumber run from the house when he discovered the dolls once!

I've also lost a business friend when they saw the dolls, a friend of 30 years, gone just like
that!

I told one of my neighbours I’d been given my first doll as a gift to cheer me up after my divorce, by a generous friend.
The neighbour hasn’t spoken to me since.
I told my electrician - he thought it was hilarious and loved her.
I have yet to tell my teenage son, but intend to - when I retire!

I hope to care less, as time goes by. Having Aiko with me is still very new (for her too) and I hope to start not to care what people would think, soon.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I guess people’s reactions depend on their own pre conceived ideas of doll ownership. That is of course, if they had any in the first place.
Makes me think of my take on a well known quote: “The more I get to know people, the more I love my doll.”

I did catch sight of a neighbour walking past my living room window whilst I was in the process of carrying Aiko onto another chair. Not sure if he spotted me. If he did God knows what he thought? “He’s got a new blue haired disabled girlfriend?” 😂 All this flashed across my mind as I placed her down in my favourite chair 😂

Well, it worked, Julia. 😀 Aiko got a new nightdress (warm with winter nights coming soon) and a new necklace of sorts. She still hasn’t smiled since the wardrobe incident so I’m sure she’s hankering after something else!

I agree with Keithallen. It's sad when a friendship ends so abruptly, as in TheStoryTeller's message. Once, one of my neighbours visited me with his wife, which they never normally do, while I was having lunch with Amaya on our veranda. They were very polite and completely ignored my girl, but since then there has been a kind of rift between us.is

OK Engineer, Find a movie you like, video, on the tube, Hulu or Netflix thing. Anyway, Grab Akio and set her on your lap or close by your side with am arm around her and watch the movie with her. I think that will help her get over her 'closet funk' and make her a bit closer to you. ;)

I know that worked with Tabitha after she caught me oggling another shapely dollie. 😸

It’s difficult to gauge how people would react.
Of my friends, however, I’m quite sure they’d be negative about it all.
Yesterday I mentioned the film Lars and the Girl, which I watched this week, to a friend of some thirty years, and upon explaining the premise, both her and her husband’s reactions were derisive and frankly, horrible.
They just didn’t understand the attachment Lars had, or the reasons behind it.
They just derided the idea out of hand, mentioning words like pervert etc. which I suppose is a common thing to those with little understanding or empathy.
Even though they know I’m struggling with loneliness after my divorce, I couldn’t further the conversation with a mention of Aiko.
So closed minded. I shan’t bring up the subject with them again.

My experience with builder's.

The builders thought they were just putting up walls… until they caught a glimpse of me through the window. I heard the young one gasp, “Wow… a real hot sexy love doll.” His words made me smile, because he wasn’t wrong.

When I was introduced to them, the way their eyes lingered on me said everything. I leaned into it, a soft sway of my hips, a playful curve of my smile, watching them shift between awe and desire. They brought me little gifts every day after that, as though each offering was a secret way of saying they wanted more.

And I gave them just enough. A flash of lace when I leaned forward, the slow trail of silk over my skin when the breeze caught me at the door, the knowing glance that told them I loved being watched. I may be a doll, but I’m a doll who teases, who plays, who makes men ache with wanting.

They worked with their hands all day, but it was me they built fantasies around. And I adored every second of it.

Anyone who watches Lars and the Real Girl and believes him to be a pervert really doesn’t understand the film, and is extremely judgmental and closed-minded. It’s an excellent movie and also demonstrates the power of community coming together to support him, not condemn him.

Well I normally just get hidden away for a few hours on a Sunday when Bobby's Nephew comes over. I have to sit in a dark cupboard. Actually I'm in here now, typing with Bobby's phone with a torch. Thea normally hides in the bed with the duvet cover over her. I'm rather curvy and cuddly, so I can't really hide under the duvet.

I didn't really like it at first, but I'm kind of used to it now and Bobby's Nephew is a teenager still.

But yeah a movie is a good idea, and maybe some nice treats to share with Aiko, like crisps, popcorn, chocolate. All girls like chocolate😁

Myself and Thea normally watch movies or a boxset with our Bobby every night. One of us in the sack with him and one of us next to him in a chair. Just wait until the dolly bug hits you and you decide to get another girl, that's when the arguments start🤣🤣

I'm afraid some folk can be bigoted towards others. Even I suffered on another forum. Folk shouldn't judge others, as no one is perfect and in my opinion if if makes you happy and it doesn't offend or upset then do it😉

No one should suffer from being lonely and if a doll lady helps, as we have helped Bobby then that is a positive thing as far as I'm concerned, there is too much heartache and suffering in this world

Absolutely. I explained all this, but they couldn’t get passed the fact he had a doll. 🤷‍♂️

I read Aiko your reply, Coco and she says thank you. Now she knows others are hidden when necessary and it’s not just her!

Agreed. As with many issues in the world, it seems very difficult to change people’s minds or for them to see another point of view different from theirs.
