Your dolls, what's good and not so good

Lets explore whats good and bad about the varies doll you have? This doesn't have to be a page long essay, but can start with some of your more famous doll brand and go on from there...

I'll start.

The good old (trusted) Kimber Doll. When a doll newbie starts looking for a sex doll, they will come across the Kimber website pretty quickly, see the photos of the doll, read the reviews on the front page and notice how affordable she is. So many, many of them get this doll for their first ever doll!

The Kimber is a great buy for the price. Her TPE is hard-wearing, she is poseable, she is very sexy and fully capable in this area. She is very pretty, a great size and shape and has standing feet and the rest of it. Most important is that her weight at about 30Kgs is just about right.

They smell quite nice (not as nice as WM dolls), and you can get clothes that fit them!

Her downside is that her breasts are too hard, and her hands are really easy to break. At least if you aren't experienced.

But despite this, the Kimber doll is very easy to fall in love with and is a great first doll!

What [USER=1]@TheStoryTeller[/USER] said; that is how I got started; was just lucky to score a preloved (once) Kimber for £300 (including shipping) on the UK forum market place. This happened while I was planning the eventual purchase of a 'boutique' brand doll that eventually became Caz/Azrael, a WM174G with heads 198 (Caz) and 419 (Azrael). She's been a great doll, but her TPE is somewhat fragile and if WM ever release that model in silicone I will replace her.

True, but there's nothing wrong with healthy discussion about our experiences either.

Oh there would be so much to write about all of my girls. The good, the bad, and the cute :)

Phoebe is my cutest and sweetest girl. She's seamless which I think is great. She simply does not loose her head.
And her skeleton is really good. Only downside are the soft hands and feet which can get damaged soo quickly and I hat to fix them quite a few times. Nowadays hard hands and feet is a default but when I got her she was almost one of the first without all these possibilities.

Maggie and Natalia my CST / Joybb girls. So realistic faces but alas so hard and not so kissable. But they are beautiful company and fantastic models. Don't know why I don't take photos more often with these two beauties. When Natalia arrived she developed some serious problems with her shoulders, and because of issues with her body (quality control lottery) I got a replacement and decided to invite Maggie as second head.

Laura a Doll4ever, my latest arrival und yet I have some complaints about her knees. Who makes a foam core at the knees? It separated, but the silicone above is good and soft, so I try not to bend her knees too often. And because she is so soft, her silicone is delicate and she already had a split at the armpit which I could repair.

Zelex girls Mia and Isabella. Both beauties in their own account. Mia is the smaller and paler one which is good, so the paint does not rub off. Isabella with her tan has a few issues where the lighter base material shines through. Thankfully also tan, but noticeable. The skeleton gets loose on both girls where I moved them more. Mias right ellbow is not so tight anymore and Isabellas fingers stay straight. The silicone pulls her left middle finger skeleton back to default.

So it got longer than I wanted but there's always something to write about my girls.

I love that you can do practical repairs. I too try to reapir where i can, but i'm more tech minded than practical so do struggle.
The straight finger sounds a problem if you want her to hold things, like she's got a broken finger that never healed right? (Good story idea)
I have had hard silicon heads in the past an yes, they aren't kissable at all really. But gawd, are they beautiful! Its what do you want, photographs or intimacy.

As for the length of the post, you just write what needs writing, if its short its short, if its long then just let it come to its own conclusion. But as I said in the intro post, you can break the posts down to individual dolls that you wish to comment upon... as many posts over time as you need.

True but Mr Tex says (other than perhaps smoothing neck joints) he wants others to see the bunnies and godesses as he does (a bit fuzzy and out of focus without glasses perhaps ;) )

I'm sure I will get toasted for this, but I thought about my reply for a while now. I had a 'dollie disaster' a while ago, but that was with dolls that are 20+ years old. I will also say that as long as CHINA uses slave labor to make dolls - and most other things, I refuse to buy a TPE, which most come from China. IMO they are cheaply made and TPE has not been proven safe to interact so closely with.

I bought a cheap doll ONCE. Yes, she felt great and was fun, and only lasted a little over a year. Most likely, I won't get any more dolls. but if I did, they would be one of the platinum silicone models. Yes they cost more but they last. I think finger pokies and problems like that will always be around until someone comes up with a cure. The same with minor rips / tears happening from accidents and such.

My point being, I would rather have a work of art than a cheap toy, or support any company that pays workers barely enough to survive on.

I try to be a work of art :) but Mr Tex still moans about how heavy i am :(

I think China has improved its treatment of workers in a big way than what it used to be. I don't think you get slaves on international projects anymore, and my wife is Chinese and says as much. Of course they still not paid as well as in western parts, however, in the western world workers are getting so expensive and have so many rights that manufacturers are now looking to replace them with robots. So workers can't really win wherever they are.

If you can afford the premium dolls, than of course that is the way to go. The way I look at it with the TPE, they can easily be replaced if needed.

And when your looking at this kind of price for a really good doll....

• Shrugging shoulders

Also there's always doll owners looking for head stands for bodies that are past their sell by date. To me, it's the heads that are the important part.

Karlos, believe it of not, I have done research on TPE. that is a general term for Hot Melt Glue. What mix/ components do TPE dolls use? No one but the manufacturer knows. They aren't saying, but I bet it's the cheapest then can get away with. THAT is my 'factual evidence'. Can you prove otherwise?

I don't know about you but none of my dolls have spent their time 'sat in the corner to collect dust.' They have been to many different states and locations for doll meets. I even have tons of pictures to prove it. That's besides the local photos and fun I have with them. Tabitha spent a day at a hairdressers for display in return for re-doing her makeup. Yes, they are heavy, and sometimes it's a pain getting them into position. Especially getting 97 pound Tabitha up on top of a 7 foot fence. The shot was worth it though.Here, she's tied off at her neck bolt on the post she's leaning against.

Another thing I want to make clear is I would not EVER look down on or bad mouth ANYONE for whatever doll they chose to get as you so unkindly insinuated. Getting a doll is a very personal choice an up to the individual. Yes, I like the higher priced silicone dolls for a few reasons. Quality, longevity, ability, and relaistic weigth - though at times the weight can be a bit of a minus.

Cripes, perhaps that is why Mr Tex is sticking to silicone (probably not using enough powder ;) ). Personally i'm keeping out of this :cautious:

Some people like TPE (like myself), others like silicone, other like Plush and so on. Each to their own, there's good and bad about anything and everything. I prefer TPE because of the smell and the way it feels. I have tried silicone, not tried plush yet as a comapnaion doll. I may do so this year if I am still in that mind.

But of course its entirely up to the indevidual what doll they buy and for what reasons. Reasons are what is interesting because that is what this thread is about.

Love the fence shot BTW Keith. Effort definately worth it.

FYI : Platinum silicone - what dolls are made of - it the EXACT same matriel used to fill women's boos and butts -= it is medical grade.

I have never hear of a 'medical grade' TPE. You're making that up, Karlos
