It Was Nice While It Lasted

So I've been on DeviantArt for a little over 6 months now. I've a good many followers there, having shared over 200 pics and GIFs. Here of late though, there's been a barrage of disgusting underage content being posted that IMO, DA doesn't do enough to prevent. I of course report it as they suggest. They take it down, delete the individual's account and the very next day they open a new account, sometimes several, under different names and re-post the very same disgusting images.

The worst part is, you have to go to that member's gallery in order to report it. When you do however, DA's algorithm thinks that's what you're interested in and includes more things like it on your daily feed. I just don't want to be associated with a site that allows this. Even worse, I'm now having my art stolen by other members. I have two DMCA cases open right now. Same dewdrop used one of my submissions to create two of his own. He didn't even bother to wipe my watermark and then tried to say he didn't copy it. Open and shut case, but it takes DA weeks to respond.

At this point I don't think I have any other choice but to deactivate my account there. It's just becoming too stressful. Of course that leaves me with over 200 works and no place to share them. They're mostly Ai parodies on the risque side, but nothing explicit. Does anyone know of any alternatives to DeviantArt for that sort of thing?

If I move this thread to Hot Chilli, can you show me some. Of course you can always post them in HOT, but I was thinking of my Ai site too. Its a bit dead there but the more people post on it the more popular it will become, especially if people advertise it round the place, like on Deviant art and Instagram, facebook, X etc.

Thats bad! and totally unfair on you. I must admit i haven't seen the underage content. I have tried to create a sexy nude plushie, to show on the Hot Chilli but it won't let me and if you mention certain words in your prompt it just says i am breaking their rules. It won't let me do it from my photos i have unless i pay or subscribe

Oh, I don't know that any of my stuff is Hot Chilli worthy. Most of it is along the lines of "Jyoti and the Klingon" that I posted on the Ai Picture Forum. The general theme is gals losing their outer wardrobe in embarrassing and silly ways and winding up in just their undies. Very little of it involves dolls though. That's why I haven't posted much here.

Oh right. Some can just go in the AI forum then. Those that don't like AI can just turn the AI forum off. I don't know if anyone has or not.

Ask the devs if you can reset you account to stop them coming?

Folks at DA aren't the easiest to work with. Most of it is Ai operated. Anything requiring human input is hurry up and wait. It'd be easier to deactivate my account and open a new one. The underage stuff would still be there though, even if I couldn't see it. So I'm not sure I even want to be associated with them. Apparently I'm not alone on that. The complaints on them are endless around the web.

Can't you just ban seeing some members content? I haven't put that function on this site, but i would think it would not be too hard to do, so I think deviant would have done it. Hide member perhaps. Eventually you will ignore or hide enough of them that upload this kind of content that you don't see it anymore. It has to be a minority of members, right?

Sorry I don't know any decent photo/image sharing places. I find posting on doll forums (TDF, LDN, here) is plenty enough social interaction for me, thank you very much 🍻.

But I have thought I'd like to create my own online album since I have so many photos and they aren't really backed up very well (on this phone I have from work, on hard drive, on laptop drive). Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent online album/gallery service which would allow naughty photos too?

I did re-initiate doing a doll blog but just don't have the time to do much on it. And perhaps starting from my year 0 with dolls, is a big ask (like I'd have to post 1000s of photos to get to now.)

Blogspot is a totally free service and I wonder what Alphabet (owners of Google and Blogpost and much more ...) get out of it (I doubt they will ever approve Adsense for that blog). Will they pull the plug on blogspot one day!?

Yes of course and I do that. Trouble is, the offending parties open multiple fake accounts daily. I blocked and reported over 20 from the same individual just yesterday. DA does nothing to prevent this from happening and it takes them 3 days on average to delete the accounts once reported. To complicate things further, the number of members you can block is limited and accounts you have blocked that have been deactivated still stay in the folder until you manually delete them. That should happen automatically when the account is deactivated, but it doesn't and I'm having to forever go in and make more space to block all the newly created accounts. Bloody vicious cycle!

I think its wise to speak to one of the mods to ask to have your account reset somehow so you're not been offered these bad accounts. Then just block what you see rather than clicking on them to report. That's if they can do that, but if you stop clicking on them, eventually they should start to disappear from your account anyway in favor of what you truly want to see? That's my guess.

Well there too, the way their system is set up you have to click on it in order to block it. I'm trying to get that sort of thing off the site altogether, but it's a loosing battle as management is so indifferent to the problem. I think I'm better off just distancing myself them. Sooner or later the authorities are going to crack down and I'd just as soon not be there when they do.

You know with a name like 'Deviant art' I suspect the name should warn you there is some twisted stuff there.

Twisted, that I'm fine with, but I absolutely draw the line at kIddie porn. Especial on a site that professes 0 tolerance for it.

On a positive note, DA decided in my favor on both copyright infringement claims I lodged. The other party is a paying member though, so all they did was take down the two works they posted an issue a written warning. 🙄
