Wow, Huskies are expensive and have a lot of requirements before your allowed to own one.

Owning a husky requires a commitment to provide at least two hours of exercise daily, mental stimulation, and regular grooming to manage their shedding. Additionally, they thrive in environments where they have companionship and a secure space to prevent escape.

Exercise Requirements
Huskies are high-energy dogs that need significant physical activity.
  • Daily Exercise: At least two hours of exercise is essential.

  • Activities: Activities can include running, hiking, or engaging in dog sports like canicross.

Mental Stimulation
Huskies are intelligent and require mental engagement to prevent boredom.
  • Interactive Play: Games like tug-of-war or agility training are beneficial.

  • Social Interaction: Regular interaction with people and other dogs is important.

Grooming Needs
Huskies have a thick double coat that sheds heavily.
  • Brushing Frequency: They need to be brushed 2-3 times a week to manage shedding.

  • Shedding Seasons: Expect increased shedding during spring and autumn.

Living Environment
A suitable living environment is crucial for a husky's well-being.
  • Secure Space: A secure yard with high fences is necessary to prevent escape.

  • Companionship: Huskies thrive in homes where they have regular companionship and are not left alone for long periods.

Training and Socialization
Training is essential due to their independent nature.
  • Consistent Training: Start training early and maintain consistency.

  • Socialization: Expose them to various environments and people to develop good behavior.

By meeting these requirements, you can ensure a happy and healthy life for your husky.

Siberian Husky puppies in the UK typically range between £800 and £1,600, depending on factors like pedigree and breeder reputation. Always ensure you choose a responsible breeder who prioritizes health and temperament.

Thanks. That shot was taken awhile back. Jackie's still with us, but getting up there in years. Him and I both. Not exactly sure of his age. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 16 or 17 give or take. Still moving under his own power though and silly as ever. 🙃

Cats are ok , but having see the in-laws sofa used as a scratching post , I hate to think what they would do to poor plush dollys .

My Cat has never damaged or chewed anything in the house. So it depends on the cat and how to train them.

Yoyo did damage Kimberley's lip once by walking across her face, (they can't retract their back claws), but it did give Kim character :) But she never ever damaged any of my dolls on purpose!

Nor mine. Our Jackie does on occasion speak to Chance (she's taken up residence in the bedroom) but has never tried to harm any of my gals. 😽
