When I was a small boy, I loved playing with my action men. Not the Palitoy Soldiers but the ones made by Marx. My action men have given me the fondest memories of any toy that I had. The lad across the street also had the same ones and we would take them out and have them doing things like climbing trees.
I don’t know what happened to mine, but I came across the same ones on eBay in excellent condition and I just had to buy them. The memories they evoke are so good.

I know this is strictly a Love Doll forum and I wasn’t going to post them. But then I thought, perhaps some of the 12” BJD or other small female dolls might be looking for a guy! 🤣
So, here they are.
They came with a number of appropriate items of cowboy clothing and knight’s armour, but I haven’t gotten around to putting anything on them.

Sir Percival reminds me of the original Star Trek klingons! And Johnny West is Yul Brynner from the original 1973 Westworld. The utimate love dolls!

Don't remember those when I was a lad. I had dozens of green army men though, and later G.I. Joe. I can still remember the look of disappointment on one of my older sister's faces when she lowered Joe's trousers. 🤣

Think I had Johny West for Christmas in about 1968 and the gold Knight in about 1970

I do remember Johnny West. Never had one, but in '66 I got a Captain Action for Christmas! 😃

Looks just like G.I. Joe! Maybe Action Man is what they called them in the UK?

Action Man was a licensed clone of GI Joe made for the UK by Palitoy and later on Hasbro. I had a couple of Palitoy versions as a kid and Mini LT (below) is a Hasbro version I bought a couple of years ago.

Thanks, TLT. I wondered where those Joe variants I keep seeing on eBay came from. Wish I still had some of my originals. Especially the Kubelwagen. I could have retired a lot sooner! 😄

I had an Action Man. I think he was a commando version with an inflatable landing craft that had a battery operated outboard motor. He got involved with my sister and her friends Sindy dolls and got married. I didn't get to play with him much.

I always wanted the helicopter that had the winch. I could have mounted a daring rescue mission with it and saved him from the clutches of the Sindy dolls.
