Cloud Climax adopting Drip Pricing!

Some of you may have received an email from CC about new prices; when you go to the website they are low.

BUT. Then you see the new drop-down box for drop-ship pricing and realise that the true price, what most pay, is really £300 extra!

Drip Pricing is a dirty tactic often used in the hotel and tourism industry and indeed, as Which reported today, has been banned. Because you don't see the real price until you go into the product page, I consider this to be Drip Pricing.

Since the main reason for buying from CC is for them to handle the paperwork and inspect the doll on receipt, etc., which they still advertise loudly ...

... it is arguable that the true price is the bigger one.

I get that they want to sell to other markets, no problem with that, but not having the true price as the default is sneaky at best and downright dishonest at worst. At the very least, people should be able to set something that says 'save the "drop-ship" option in a cookie and use that every time I visit. It now means mentally having to add £300 to every price I see.

It is just me? Or does anyone else think it makes makes Paul look like yet another dodgy eBay dealer or rip-off vendor?

I think it’s okay. Paul needs to be competitive otherwise his company will go bust. Great they still ship to warehouse as an option.

Personally, I’ve never had issue with drop shipping from other vendors - including vendors from other countries (USA and Belgian vendors.)

Thanks for pointing it out. Not sure how i feel about it because I don't think I have experienced this type of pricing before, but I don't tend to buy anything big these days.

That's the wrong way round. If they say they don't dropship from China (but want to keep that as an option) then the headline price should be the non-dropshipped price with dropshipping as a discount option.

Still a lot cheaper than buying from stock though. Just picking one doll at random: £1549 to dropship from China or in-stock at £2429, that's nearly a grand extra!

I thought just the same thing as soon as I got their email,, why not advertise at the higher price offering the “premium” delivery service which they strongly recommend then offer the discounted option if you want her drop shipped? I suspect this would attract less sales though as soon as the higher price is seen most buyers will have narrowed down their choice to one specific lady and will be shopping around for the lowest price. So for example if I Google Starpery Zoey 148 price shipped to UK then CC will almost certainly be the highest price so many buyers would go elsewhere.
