Old timer

Today mr track walked in a steam tractor , the local secondhand shop was open (a real s/h shop no charity owned) so mr track had a look around and parted with a tenner 👍 , so we are now the proud owners of a Mamod TE1 steam traction engine , but there is a few parts missing , nothing that can’t be fixed , also we had it running , and it even went on the yard floor and travelled under its own power - but by now the boiler was empty ☹️
We already have a TE1 with a few added extras so this one will be re-built similar .

Oh yes Carly, Mr Bob has a number of them, made by Mamod, a steam roller, the timber tractor and it's timber trailer, and others, all still work, Lady-J (y)

That's awesome Carly, Joe Bin has a Mamod Locomotive that is in the process of getting some upgrades. When done, he will be running it on the garden railway.

Mr Tex is well impressed. Is a full steam driven fairground planned ?

Lady J we have the steering rod off our original one so we have one to copy off

Julia we have witnessed the upgraded cylinder and gas fired Mamod loco and they
perform really good 👍

Polly there is no fairground planned , but a roundabout would be a idea 👍

That is what keeps happening here. We have lots of projects in bits and waiting for reassembly.:LOL:

Let's hope assembly is the reverse of dis-assembly ;)

Don’t worry it will all go back , maybe as a static model , as once fired the heat burns of the paint , unless they are compressed air powered .
It will be painted in a different colour to the one we already have .

Next job is to solder the exhaust steam pipe back onto the cylinder block
once we find the blow lamp … it goes into the tiny hole above the other pipe ,

Well we got the new steam pipe silver soldered on , to stop the heat getting to the polished brass and black paint a old bean tin was cut up to make a shield , but it was best I stayed indoors , but was allowed to sample mr tracks dead old blowtorch ….. and it’s a petrol one 😁

I’m allowed to touch the engine now it’s all nice and clean 😁👍😁

Well I’ve not got any interest in trains, buses, tractors, steam engines etc., but I will say that it’s a real work of art. Very nice.
And Carly is looking lovely too ☺️
