This time we got two second hand old Tri-ang , that’s what it was called before Hornby bought them out , but it was not the real Hornby Dublo that was Meccarno from Liverpool , but back to our Tri-ang transcontinental baggage cars they are to go into our Canadian Pacific train so far we have nine cars our goal is for a full train . Our motive power is a 4-6-4 Hudson class steamer and two FP7 A units ,
The original cars for ‘the Canadian’ were built by Budd in stainless steel , the Tri-ang models are a good representation although not quite to scale but are a better size for indoor model railroads .

Here is pretty me masking up the baggage cars prior to spraying them in silver ………

And our train so far ………

those bring back some memories for Joe bin.
CPR had the main rail line here on the Island for many years until it was bought out by Via rail. After the conversion from steam to diesel, they ran two Budd rail diesel cars coupled back to back for their passenger service. Unfortunately Via let the tracks go unmaintained for too long and the service was eventually shut down permanently.

Hiya Carly,

You certainly love your big steam engines 👍🏻.

I like a big steam engine too. I especially love when they go chu-chu! 🤗

Mr Flibble did have a Hornby train set when he was a wee bairn. He never had anything as impressive as that though.

Lots of love from Miss K

The Triang factory was in my home town of Merthyr Tydfil.
It was the building where piston rings for the Spitfire engines were manufactured during WW2. Because it was the only place that did this, a nearby lake was drained to avoid moonlight shining on the lake and highlighting where the factory was to enemy aircraft.
After the war, the lake was restored, many domestic wildfowl were introducedand council members were wondering what to do with the small island there, whether to create some kind of attraction. In one council meeting, one councillor suggested they put a pagoda on the island; to which another councillor said, “well if we put two there then perhaps they would breed?”
