There was excitement mixed with anticipation in the Ell house the other morning because Rosina’s body tracking number had become live. So dense was it you could cut through it if you had a sharp enough knife, which reminds me I must locate one in readiness.
Elina got up early (for her) and settled herself on the stairs affording a good view of the hallway and front doors. She was holding a new top and skirt so Rosina’s body would have something to wear. Almost beside her, to her left and a few stairs lower was Leonora with Rosina’s head on her lap and her hands against her cheeks.
Three pairs of eyes were focused on the glazed panel of the inner door that lines up with the glazed panel of the front door, thus you can see anyone arriving. What none of them considered, I’m sure, was that I would be the one going to the door and would therefore block their view entirely! On occasions Leonora bowed her head to speak to Rosina, Elina remained unusually quiet, probably, I reasoned, because I was entertaining her. I was removing some of the long coats from the rack above and behind the inner door, together with other items that had found an almost permanent temporary home along the floor and against the walls of the hallway. With the coats removed and the floor cleared the inner door could be opened fully and secured in place, likewise the front door enabling uninterrupted access from the front door along the whole length of the hall. A quick go over with the Vax and we were ready for the new arrival.
According to the tracking info she arrived at Stanford Le Hope facility at 19:54 on the 11/03/2025, left at 0:35 arriving at Bristol 4:00 12/03/2025, with delivery anticipated between 08:00 and 13:00 the same day. About 13.15 Elina shouted “Some-ones here Hugs!” as I made my way into the hall I heard a knock on the glazed panel of the front door. I went along the hall opened the inner door and got the front door key ready to unlock the door. I opened the door, in front of me was a middle-aged woman who stated “I’ve got a really heavy box for you!” “I know” I replied as once again I followed the driver to the back of the van. There was the box almost in the same position as Elina was just under six years prior, except she was on her side. The woman climbed in and pushed the box over the edge of the loading area, beside it was another, so someone else within my area was also getting one. I lifted the box end and pulled as she pushed. It was heavy, or I had lost more of my strength than I had thought. Together we carried the box into the house, putting it down just past the inner door threshold. She thanked me for helping, I stated it was no problem, we bade each other goodbye, she went to the van, I closed the doors and went back to the bottom of the stairs to be with the girls and surveyed the box.
It looked to be in very good condition, all eight corners and edges appeared to be free of damage, the tape holding the box closed was continuous on all three edges. I inserted the knife blade into the top right corner (by its spine) and drew the blade along the three sides in one continuos motion. Although I did have to re-cut the corners. I opened the flaps, removed the piece of expanded polystyrene at the neck end (by the inner door), then just as I was about to pull the white fluffy blanket from around her body, I saw it, the polystyrene that formed the left side of her protection (think of a casket) was bent or folded over. I removed the piece of 3mm thick ply, placed between the box edge and the poly. that too had been bent. The only things I know that would bend ply is water (inc. steam) or dampness and it has to be held in that position whilst it dries. Strangely it all seemed dry, so what has caused it and where?
Contemplation over, I began removing the blanket, unlike Elina and Leonora where they were wrapped in their respective blankets, this one had the blanket placed over her and tucked in between her body and the poly. I should state that the poly. was also covered with a fluffy protective material. I ventured on removing the blanket from her neck, the body was also inserted into a mesh bag, like a large head bag, as I continued down exposing her body, I stood back in horror. She was the wrong colour, I’d ordered ‘natural’ the same as Elina and Rosina, this was pink! That was not all, her bust was in a different place, higher up, the nipples were trying to see out of the fanlight above the inner door, and not looking at me as they should have been. This was NOT the doll I had seen in her many photo galleries. As I continued to expose her I discovered she was wearing a pair of soft shoes, now that was a thoughtful touch. However when I looked at her right foot I discovered she had what appears to be a broken ankle, her foot is at ninety degrees to her leg.
Yet the box and her protection is undamaged meaning it was done in the factory! I did not remove her from her box. I am not accepting her in this condition. She’s going back to China, to the Oriental Rose / JinSan factory! It is unlikely Rosina (OR 26 ‘Rose’ head) will ever have a body of her own now, likewise the two WM 185 heads I had included for Elina one for photo-shoots, the other in reserve, are also the wrong colour and will also be returned.

Furthermore, I have mentioned the bent skeleton being used by WM some time ago, I thought that as OR was a different manufacturer, it would continue to produce dolls as it has always done and not follow WM in its use of the bent skeleton. I was wrong, it has! This doll is nothing like its gallery photographs, I can accept minor changes like articulated fingers and shrugging shoulders as these do not alter the stance of the doll unlike this bent skeleton, which I believe will lead to premature body (tpe) failure if one has them as a photographic mannequin. The constant posing will result in not being able to get the skeleton back with the correct angles of the hip and spine joint, the two that have been moved out of (straight) alignment.

If the photographer had taken one in line with her or in profile then I would have been able to see the body contours and realise instantly she was not what I had expected and would not have approved them or indeed her.
The doll is an Oriental Rose 156D, on a couple of photos in her galleries you will see a line just below her shoulders going across the top of her breasts, to me it looked like she had implants, something I did not like or want so she was dismissed. Then around Christmas time I found a gallery I had not seen before. The breast ‘line’ was not there, obviously it was a shadow. I spent some time viewing and reviewing the pics, even downloading and displaying them full screen on my 32in tv. I was impressed, so much so I ordered one in late December. Nowhere was I told of the bent skeleton being used, or that the ‘natural’ colour had been changed from whatever date. It doesn’t end there, her weight is listed as 27.5 kgs on every web site. Elina was listed as 28 kgs and she is, Leonora is listed as being 29 kgs, I believe she is. Although I have not taken the 156D out of her box, I did stand it up and placing my arms around her waist I lifted. I assume she hasn’t been secured into her box, she was heavy, very heavy (for me) I estimate her weight to be 37.5 kgs. way above my 30kg limit.

Rosina (OR 26 Rose head) and WM 185 Elina (new) Pink colour.Rosina spends her time with eye protection (from Elina) in a head bag, in a padded box in a cupboard. After every outing she gets washed and pampered, returning to her box clean. And yes I know her upper and lower eyelashes need replacing!
