It was New Years Day 2021, Hugs and I were snuggled together, when our peace was interrupted...Rosina burst into the room and stated that she would like to cook us all a meal to say thank you to us for taking her in in April 2020, for giving her her forever home and for treating her like an established member of the family. Also it would give Hugs and me some quality time together.
Hugs was tempted to kindly refuse her offer on the grounds that that is part of his job, doing the cooking. However I stopped him, explaining that it was really important for her to do this, so he relented. After about fifteen minutes had passed without incident or a cry for help, Hugs quietly went across to the kitchen door to have a quick look and offer assistance if it was needed.
When he saw what she was planning on doing he felt he had to step in...
She listened intently to what he had to say...
When he had finished, she gave it some thought...
Hugs said on his return "I think I shall be doing all the cooking from now on, just as I’ve always done. Maybe next year I’ll have a copper haired pupil to teach." I sincerely hope not! I thought.
