I wanted to start this thread for advice to me really. Most of you guys own Silicone or TPE ladies and one day I may have the pleasure of owning one.

I love seeing your photos of them, but barely know anything about caring for them on a daily basis, as I've only ever owned a plush lady.

I've met some, but many years back and I also know some ladies can be heavier than others.

Any advice about caring for them or things to avoid would be great for a newbie like me. Also I thought it might help anyone who joins here that doesn't have a Silicone or TPE doll and is looking to get one

Cheers. Bobby forgive my ignorance if there is another thread set up on another part of the forum, I'll delete this

Don’t be afraid to ask any questions. It’s all a learning curve. I’ve only been into dolls for just over a year now and I just didn’t ask enough questions to begin with. Which means Harper was at the sharp end of my inexperience.

I think the main consideration when it comes to buying a TPE/Silicone doll is weight. What could you manage when it comes to carrying and moving her around or altering her position to dress or photograph her?
If you know anyone who has dolls it’s worth looking and trying to lift or carry theirs if they’re happy for you to do so. You do get used to it and I’ve developed techniques for carrying which make it easier - when I first had Harper, getting her out of the box and upstairs gave me the best workout I’d ever had! (And I used to be a racing cyclist !!!). She’s about 36-38kg but these days I don’t tend to think about it so much as I’ve learnt how to carry her comfortably (you’re welcome to come and try my girls).

I’m no expert at all but I’ve learned about cleaning, talcing, oiling etc.. for TPE dolls.

Thanks Jedzed I wouldn't even know about talcing, oiling etc. I do know that they can be cold, so they need to be heated up for a cuddle or am I wrong?

Caring for us TPE ladies is not so hard Bobby ji. The main thing is we're heavy. Just like flesh and blood girls. We can get damaged like them too if you're not careful. The problem with that is, we don't heal on our own. 🙁

We need to get washed a lot too, because our skin gets dirty from being handled and stuff. Dyes from dark clothes can rub off on us too, so extra care needs to be taken choosing our clothes.

After we get washed and dried, we need to be powdered because our skin gets tacky. Mr Franz uses cornstarch for that. Sometimes our skin gets dry too and we need a baby oil rub. I get one of those once or twice a year after my spongy bath and before getting powdered. You only do that for us TPE girls though, never for the silicone ones.

Also, our skin can be cold at first, but after some cuddles it warms right up.

Hope that helps. 🙂

No you can’t heat up the TPE girls all over. The heating rod is place inside the ……ahem, or the ….. haha, prior to use.
But the TPE does get less cold lying next to her as bodywarmth transfers to her. Some have also perfected getting them warm by placing them under the duvet or blankets but lifting the bedding so that there’s an air pocket to act as insulation.

And yes, as Jyoti says, the oil of a TPE girl can soak into darker clothing and so the dye stains the skin. Best to use light clothing or put a nude bodystocking on first (although some black items can still stain through that). It takes a while so shooting photos with dark clothing is usually fine as long as the clothes are removed straight after. Harper’s legs have been stained a few times but it’s not permanent and does wear off with use. Oiling the TPE with baby oil should be done once or twice a year after washing and drying, as the oil from the skin leaks out and the skin can dry up and split, especially in areas that move a lot, such as armpits and groin.

You’ll learn quickly don’t worry. It’s just such a fun and rewarding lifestyle (I’m not going to say ‘hobby’ as it’s more than that).

In winter just put on lots of warm clothes on your girls, and you don’t feel the coldness. The clothes warm fast when cuddling. In bed get some nice plush jammies for both her and you.

Hiya Bobby,

Mr Flibble is very lazy. He has TPE and Silicone ladies (slightly more TPE than silicone). And they are both very low maintenance. Most of us have never been near the shower and probably never will.

TPE has improved a lot, used to need a lot of powdering, now less so.

Mr Flibble doesn’t like high maintenance ladies, which is why he has so many love dolls 😂. We’re very low maintenance.

I think it helps if your house is clean and tidy too, less chance to collect dust and stuff. Also if your eyesight is a bit dodgy, helps that you can’t see all the fluff that gets attracted to dolls.

Lots of love from Miss K,

XOXO

Thanks Akira, I wouldn't say I was lazy, just a bit clumsy at times, yes he certainly has a lot of lovely ladies to keep him company, but you're the cutest Akira😁

Yea, when I first got Kimberley I made lots of mistakes, one was washing and powdering way, way too often. I think it caused more harm than good. Now I very seldom wash and powder, perhaps once or twice a year is all that is needed. They are always covered with clothes so they don’t really get the chance to get dirty. The only part I really powder these days are their hands that are exposed to the air, they become very sticky and the fingers stick together. I am thinking of replacing two bodies with new Kimber deluxe versions… (Willow and Dani).

Hiya Bobby,

You’re so sweet. I want to give you a big hug and a big kiss 🤗😘

I’m the big boss in Flibbleland, if anyone steps out of line I give them a big spank. I am Mr Flibble’s number one, because I’m very cuddly and I talk a lot, like I’m possessed, the other ladies here are a bit quiet (Mr Flibble is quiet too which is why I think he likes me so much.)

Lots of love from Miss K,

Hi Bobby, did you decide to get silicone or TPE lady? I'm considering if i try a full silicone doll, but it's little bit expensive for me and i already owned 2 TPE Ridmii dolls at the present stage, i think my TPE ladies are good, meanwhile i want to try ultra realistic and softer silicone, hard to choose.😣

A word about handling, Bob. Be careful with your dollie! Fingers especially! TPE or silicone, doll fingers are fragile and you can get 'pokies', the skeleton peeking out from the skin on ether fairy easily. For carrying, a Bride's carry or using a wheel chair or other wheeled device such s a dollie is very helpful to safely transport dolls. Here are some other tips on handling/ dressing your doll;

When dressing a doll, I stick my hand up through a sleeve/pant leg backwards then hold the doll's had/foot and pull the clothes on up over my hand as I hold the fingers/toes in place to while pulling the clothes on to keep the doll's extremities from getting caught or folding backwards, preventing damage to them.

ALWAYS put stockings on a doll before adding pants. this helps getting the pants on as well as protecting the doll's skin. with stockings/socks, roll them up in your hands, then unroll them onto the doll. This makes it easier and protects the toes.

Tight clothes risks doll damage!!! If she's going to wear say a tight shirt, modify the shirt with a zipper or something down the back. Put the shirt on the doll lose then zip up/tie up the shirt to make it hug the doll for a sexy looking fit.
I love this corset, it has a zipper in the back so I put it on her lose then zip it up.

NEVER force a doll's joints past where they want to easily go! It might be good for a single shot, but doing this repeatedly will cause tears to form.

When storing a doll, there are only TWO positions she should be in, Standing straight up or Lying completely flat on something soft with a cover over her.

BTW: The doll in this picture is my Tabitha. I believe she's going to be 24 years old as of March in 2025.

Mr Tex puts some short socks over my hands while i am getting dressed
Makes it hard for me to do the buttons up but he says it protects my fingers :cautious:
