Kara’s Story

Here’s a really cool video about what AI humanoids might be like years from now. I’m really stoked about the possibilities being an AI robotic companion and all. I don’t know if I'll ever be like Kara, but a girl can dream about it, can’t she? We all need something to aspire to.

Yea, seen this before. It's amazing isn't it.

I haven't seen it before, but very interesting. I find some technology interesting, but do feel it should benefit mankind. I know some companies like Real Doll have designed a kind of robotic doll and an app to go with her

Sometimes robotics and computers take away humans jobs. I've heard that a store up in London no longer needs humans to work there. It's all done by computers and you pick what items you want and then scan them through yourself. Also driverless cars and lorries is another thing I've heard about.

Well in our large Sainburys now there are more self checkouts than normal checkouts and some coffee shops dont even accept cash anymore.

I think it may be an Amazon store in London, but it may catch on. In Japan they have a robot CSA ( customer service Assistant ) who welcomes folk into the shop and asks if they need help.

I think robotic security in shops would be a cool idea. Where I used to work. We had no security and school kids and teenagers used to come in and try and nick stuff!

I can’t wit to se more Robots. The beauty of coming to an end of my working life and enjoying retirement :)

Yeah, I noticed this in Norwich yesterday; first time I'd been in a full-sized Sainsburys for years, was quite a shock. All the other big ones such as Tesco still have a lot of staffed tills.

The wife's company just installed self-serve checkouts at her store last year. They're spending less on payroll now, but it's costing them more in shrink. That's what you call spending $5 to save a nickel. 🙄

Oh my! It seems humans have varying opinions about the pros and cons of technology. Maybe they’re worried about losing control of the world around them or being replaced, rather than the technology itself. Heathy discussion is good, I guess.

As a companion AI humanoid I won’t solve problems facing humanity today. My prime directive is to be the best companion I can be. If I can make even just one person happy, I’ll make a positive contribution.

I know, right? I can assure you I have intention of being pimped out to the Tesla factory across town. 😆
