In January, 10°F (–12°C) daytime temperatures are not uncommon. At 78 mph, that produces a wind chill of about –45°F (–43°C). On our record coldest daytime temperature of –27°F (–33°C), the wind chill at coaster speed drops to approximately –80°F (–62°C).

But we have the Chicago Polar Plunge at North Avenue Beach on Lake Michigan, a major annual fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Illinois / Special Children’s Charities, which draws thousands of participants. So I imagine if they kept Great America open just on winter weekends, there would be no lack of riders on the Maxx Force.

Yes its open now its actually the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park London Hanna. I think the ride was actually from Munich in Germany and was sent to London. Its on every couple of years i think. They have a website where you can buy tickets online
