They're not perfect in some regards. The silicone is excellent but is very heavy (49kgs) Also, none of their dolls are free standing (not clear on their website) which forces you to buy their metal doll stand which is an extra £500! Attention to detail though is second to none.

Very pretty Tanya, you remind me of an actress from her younger days called Sandra Bullock😍

Thanks for letting me know that. I had no idea they were so heavy. She would be beyond my capability to handle, sadly.

Sorry to hear that Jedzed. They do do a 'petite' range of dolls which may be more to your liking?

Instead of buying an expensive 'pro made' Doll stand, I can explain how to build one AT HOME with simple tools and things you can get at the local hardware store much cheaper. Just change inches to CM's

First you need a 24 inch by 18 inch piece of 3/4 inch thick plywood. Sand and finish it as you like. I just sanded and varnished it.

Second common iron or steel pipe fittings, I used 1.25 inch diameter schedule 40 pipe. It's solid and not too heavy. If you use iron, you'll need to paint it. Stainless steel doesn't need painting.

Search

Just follow the pictures for the fittings and placements.

A Mid back is a stance modifier pad mounted to the main pips rising up. A cloth covered foam pad with plywood backing

for the top section, this is how to make it, the doll's neck ring goes on the hook at the end.
the adjustable pipe clamp (red) allows to extend and retract the upper pipe with the hook on it to adjust the stand height to the doll you're putting on it. Below that the thumbscrew in the back tightens the upper pipe.

You can make TEN of these for the price of buying 1 from Abyss.

I’ll have to look them up - although it’s recommended not to buy anything below 147cm in the UK

Their website has changed much since my 2018 purchase but the smallest body available (not including head) is 148cm and weighs "less than 60lbs". Hope this helps.

Yes. Realdolls are more expensive but last much longer than TPE dolls. Tabitha is going to be 25 years old in a few more months

25 years, wow!
Realdoll were the first dolls that were widely known, I was obsessed by the idea for a while and looked for any context about them on the internet - there was almost nothing outside of manufacturer publicity!
Totally out of my price range back then, and indeed still are today…

To order one now from a UK vendor like Cloud Climax (who deal with them) start at around £10,900. Mine was £6500 direct from RealDoll, but cost a further £2000 on tax, VAT and Customs clearence and getting it to my frontdoor from Heathrow Airport, so I'm guessing Cloud Climax price covers that but I'm not sure.
