The Legion Inspection
Darth vader inspects his legions
What if Darth Vader had Roman Legions instead of storm troopers? Would he have lost to the resistance? The romans used light sabers instead of swords. They used their s...
Seriously?
If I had agreed to date “
Darfy” when we were both young, there wouldn’t have been legions to inspect, Roman, storm, or otherwise. The question would have been irrelevant.
The galaxy didn’t fall because the Empire lacked better soldiers. It fell because one boy couldn’t handle being told no. It changed him completely and led him to the Dark Side.
You see, I met “
Darfy” before the title, before the cape was mandatory, before the breathing was marketed as “intimidating.” Back when the black armor was basically a prototype and the voice modulator squeaked like a busted door hinge if he turned his head too fast.
He asked me out at a Coruscant diner like he was issuing a royal decree. Not “wanna grab coffee?” more like, “Obey me, or… romance will be difficult.” I said no. Calmly, politely, with zero fanfare. I just don’t do men who treat destiny like a Tinder bio. “
Darfy” was obsessed with one thing: himself.
I suppose that if I’d agreed to date “
Darfy” when we were both young, he might have turned out different. He might have become a kind and loving soul. There wouldn’t have been legions to inspect, Roman or otherwise. The Star Wars might have never happened, and George Lucas wouldn't have had much of a story to tell.
No... The real question is whether “
Darfy” would have gone to the Dark Side at all if one awkward, armored teenager had learned how to accept “no” without deciding the galaxy needed to pay for it.
But, even if I somehow knew back then that I could have possibly stopped the Star Wars from happening, there’s still no way I could have dated him. That breathing alone would have driven me completely insane.
