Having dolls has unforseen consequences

I should finish getting my studio ready this weekend. As I had the seating in place I thought I should move my dolls from my front room as explaining why I have 3 dolls in my front room might be awkward. Manon was easy to get upstairs. Next Giselle (48kg Real lady 170). As she is quite heavy, I had bought a winch. I intended making a sled for the stairs but haven't got around to it, but she slides nicely on carpet in her PVC catsuit.. I tried just lifting her but after nearly cartwheeling down the stairs I decided to use the winch after all. The first issue was I had no anchor point for the winch. A chain around the toilet provided that but the winch cable was running through the bathroom and across the landing. No big deal, right? The winch anchors on the bottom and winds on the side so I could only do half a turn and then reseat the winding handle. Bright idea, use a drill. Took me ages to find, then discovered it had no reverse function (ok it is over 40 years old). So it took hours. Got to the top step and the neck hit the step. Grrrr. I removed the lifting eye and she started sliding down the stairs. I put my foot between her legs to stop her. Now I was in the wrong position to lift. I managed to get an arm under her shoulders and lever them onto the landing. I then grabbed her legs and slid her body onto the landing. Finally she's seated in the studio, hurrah!

Wow, you are brave moving a 48KG doll up the stairs on your own. You're lucky both of you are in one peace!

Our house is a Teddy Babe house , but to enable them living we me in the living room , a centre point was needed so a replica juke box was just the job , and the excuse was that some teenagers needed to hang around the music , no snide remarks to date 👍

More like I am very bad at judging my own limitations, which doesn't always turn out this well.

OK, HOW to move a heavy doll up and down the stairs. (A thing I've been doing for many years)
First, get a good hand cart. One that has decent sized tires and can hols at least 75KG.

Then there are a couple modifications to do that will make moving dolls anywhere MUCH easier. Make a floor and lower base plate so the doll's feet won't get caught on the wheels. I have a DOLL Tools post on this. Can't bring it up now. I also have sturdy doll stands and a 'dressing stand that helps greatly for heavy dolls.
How to move a doll on a 'dollie dollie'. up and down stairs.
Stand behind the handcart with the doll firmly tied/ strapped to the frame. Depending on your height get above the doll so you can comfortably lift the doll up ONE step. Then lift yourself up one step. Repeat and 'inch worm' your way to the top.
Going down, reverse, lower the doll one step, then yourself one step. This method works and is efficient.

I've moved 50/60kg up 3 flights and some lighter ones when courier wouldn't move it with me. I put a plastic sheet down on the steps and push it up slowly and actually had to take a babe out as box breaking, I bearhugged her upstairs 3 flights stairs which took a long time. Exhausted afterwards and glad nobody came out when taking upstairs.

Wow.

My Indianna is 50kg and I had to move her 3 flights up then afterwards I learnt to use plastic sheeting under the box stand on end while pulling across to next steps up then push and pull up corner to get it over lip as metal edges. 2nd time I had a fat assed 50kg which the box got wrecked so half way up had to take her out of box then bearhug the rest of way over 30 mins later got there. When I was just about to get her out and Amazon woman driver was delivering to middle flat so had to shut up box, I was still laughing about it instead of getting angry that the UPS courier didn't help as others did.
