New monitor.

I'm after a good monitor. IP with really great sharp picture for new computer. I was thinking a wider screen?
Any ideas to look at?

Don't let yourself be talked into a 32" monitor; they're way too big. I also think curved is probably a bit of a gimmick, although I do have two monitors angled towards each other.

I've had a lot of ViewSonics over the years and they're pretty good. No stuck pixels, and some of them will do audio too, but I prefer external speakers.

I have an LG 38GN950 37.5" widescreen monitor. Took me a while to get used to it, but now I think it's okay. Probably bought it 4 years ago. Discontinued now. It was recommended to me. And it didn't cost me a penny 😉.

I did notice it hehehe. Thats something like what I'm looking for. I'll have a look at monitors later this week, need to studio some you tube videos after I get this work done.

I still remember our first TV when I was a kid. It had an 8 inch round screen in glorious B&W and took two people to lift it! 🤣

When I was a kid we had an old B&W TV that you had to give a smack every once in a while to get the picture back.

Yeah, we had a couple of those. When TVs first came out, it was newsworthy if you got past a month without having to call the TV repairman. 🙃

I remember my little portable I had in my room. It had a white case and could run on a car battery, Ideal for power cuts.

I remember wanting one of those but never getting one.
I'll bet that very few young people today know what rabbit ears are.

Oh yea! The things we had to do to get a decent picture in the old days. I had a mini ariel too that you had to place somewhere and rotate just right. Placing on a higher shelf sometimes worked better! But most pictures were snowy in some rooms, you just couldn't make it better no matter what you did with the Ariel. Then we started routing the main ariel into multiple rooms, then we started buying extenders etc.

How noisy is that rascal? The grandnephew's gaming setup sounds like a helicopter when the fans are running full tilt.

Almost silent usually, but when I am encoding an image or a video its more noisy. It's still nothing like my old computer that is just out of shot, that is really noisy.
