Apparantly Bobby ( The font of all knowledge 😁 ) says the airport has been used in several movie productions like The Da Vinci Code and episodes of The Crown and Poirot, but Bobby wont be flying anywhere, as he hates heights and planes🤣🤣

A great story but sadly Bramber and Southwater closed on 7th March 1966. I did travel over the line before closure.
I did do a visit to Shoreham Airport once.

Miss Amanda works at Shobdon airfield, it's near here, they land small planes there, she works in the control tower, if you watch the video landing, just before the main runway they hold farm sales there, the planes fly right over your heads, really low, Lady-J (y)

Oh we know that, we just like Nostalgia. Unfortunately Bobby never got the chance to travel on that line, but he did walk it from Southwater to Shoreham many years ago and got the bus back. It took him around 4 hours

Well we are just having some fish and chips now on Shoreham beach as the sun is starting to setHow romantic is that? And yes Bobby is in some shorts🤣🤣

After the delicious fish & chips we are both eating ice creams, locally made a is we walk along the beach together😁

Well we will soon be going back to our Hotel, The Tollgate soon for an early night and that's private😯😉🤣🤣

Morning all, yes it was a very enjoyable evening last night😉 The bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of room for some play time🤣🤣

Well we are both not big breakfast eaters, so we are going to skip breakfast and wait for the main event Dinner. Well actually we are going to have coffee and some Welsh Cakes that Bobby bought back from Cardiff Market, just a snack😁Yes they were freshly made on the premises. Bobby bought quite a few of them and they taste a little like scones

And yes, I still get to make the coffees, lucky me🤣🤣

Well we've had our Welsh cakes and coffee and are going to explore Bramber castle, well what remains if it.

Apparantly a fun fact that Bobby told me is that when the steam railway ran Bramber and Steyning railway stations were very close together, the reason for this is that Bramber was quite a tourist spot back in the 1900s. The castle had a miniature railway that ran near it and there were play areas for the children and folk would come and picnic for the day

Well as you can see the first shot is the real ruins, the second is well I'll let you guys guess, but it's very picturesque and apparantly its haunted😯

Yes apparantly William De Braose 4th Lord of Brambers Children haunt the site. The story goes that he fell out with King John and his three children were taken to Windsor Castle and were starved and the three of them haunt Bramber castle begging for food

So theres a little history lesson for you, courtesy of Bobby.

We are just going to take a stroll into Steyning via the river, Bobby says it's a small town, but very quaint.should only be a 20 minute walkWe will probably get a coffee there, we dont want to eat too much and then not be hungry for the main event at lunchtime

Well we have just arrived, we acted silly and mucked about a bit walking here so it took longer. We have just found a quaint little cafe for coffee

Well we are just walking back into Bramber and have both built quite an appetite for Sunday lunch. We are having the full menu, so will probably be bloated out this afternoon on our journey back

Well it's time for Dinner and 😯 wow!!!That's just part of the cold starters selection!

Then theres lots of different hot starters to try like rabbit stew or chicken in white wine, before you even get to the meat and then theres about 7 different types of meat too

You guys should see the desert area, I tried not to look but 👀 its huge and I have a sweet tooth 🤣🤣

Well we both had a cold starter of different things, but I don't want to stuff myself too much, as I want to try the roasts😁

Well Bobby woofed his down and is going up for more beef and another yorkshire pudding. I'm heading towards the deserts corner, I need to leave room for desert. The meat was lovely and they sliced it really thinly.

I think Bobby will hit the desert corner at some point😉

Well this is the desert corner and there is a list up of all the deserts you can try, from little meringue style cakes to fruit and warm chocolate brownies and fresh cream😋 yummy!I'm deffinately coming for seconds and probably thirds for deserts🤩 I'm going to try the warm brownies with cream first and a chocolate tartlet, then I'm coming back to try a meringue and some trifle and prehaps a slice of that cake

Well I've eaten my first helping of desert, but I might only go up once more, as I'm feeling a bit full.

Bobby has been up once and had the same as me, but hes stuffed now🤣🤣

Sorry we have not been here to follow your Thread :( , but lots of work on the farm right now, Miss Holly was asked the drive the tractors today and for the next day or so, so there will be no posts on the site from us, but we had a quick look in and can see you are having a really good time, wish we could join you, but it's back to work for me and Holly, may get to look in later tonight, Lady-j(y)
