I have a bit of a dilemma. Should I tell Bob what his girls get up to after he goes to bed?

I did chop LadyJ up to do that This is what I started with
So first I chopped off LadyJ's hands and legs, then I pasted in the motorbike
Rotated and pasted in left hand
Same with right hand (you may notice I chopped off her thumb to make it look right
Bit of rotation on the legs
And the final piece to the jigsaw
Ok, for the very observant people out there I flipped LadyJ horizontally and straightened her up a bit. I should have removed the back of the bike and the left leg should have had a bit of a trim by the petrol tank but it came out acceptable without perfection!

Hiya Pyroc,

I recognise that Lion. That's naughty Mr Flibble. I hope he behaved.

I took a photo of him this morning. Not sure what happened between Mr Flibble and Gracie, but it's like they've come back from a honeymoon, they are so loved up.

Lots of love from Miss K,

XOXO

Hiya Mr Story,

Lady-J looks very good on the bike. But if someone really had a bike like that and she sat on it in real life, it would be so much better.

If you do things in real life, in the real world, you know it really happened and it's a great memory. Like I still have all those memories of the 2021 doll meet I went to. I don't think AI is memorable. But maybe that's just me.

I know you love AI and keep doing what you love. Big hug 🤗

Lots of love from Miss K,

XOXO

Yea, but that's like saying if you paint a landscape, it's not the same of being there. Art is not just about expressing memories as such, it's about expressing dreams and emotions. Digital art is just the same as all other types of art. It is an expression from yourself.

Hello Mr Story,

You're missing the point.

What you're saying is like, why does anyone bother going out the house, they can do everything on their computer, they don't need to leave the house, all they need to do is type something in a prompt and all their dreams come true.

If you paint a landscape, you have a memory of painting the landscape. Ideally you would be painting the landscape from a picture you've taken yourself (my recently deceased dad loved doing that, he'd do some lovely paintings from photos he had taken, and frame them and put them up on the wall.)

Miss K wasn't talking about Art (yes AI Art is absolutely Art, we are in agreement there, and I do like some AI Art), she was talking about memories.

In 5 years time, will you reminisce about your AI creations?

Cheers,

HtS

Yeah i agree with whats been said about ai and art and memories. I used to use a background changer before Ai and i only have a mobile, so i doubt the paint workshop app would work, but its kind of just technology progressing i guess from the background Changer and paint app to Ai

Like making things faster and quicker for us humans and life has become faster paced too. I mean before calculators, we had to work things out ourselves, now we can have the answer in a few seconds.

I mean you probably would have memories of the time spent creating and working on a beautiful piece of art, but with ai you can just do it in a few minutes, i mean even using the paint app takes some skill. With Ai as long as you are good at promps you dont need much skill

I mean who writes a letter anymore, we just use email, its quicker and easier 😆

That is what produces slop, just putting in a prompt and using the result. The true art is getting the picture out of the AI that is in your head, or very similar to it. It's what drives you mad with AI; it's what wastes hours to get just one or two images, and the expense that goes with it. Because it seems to the artist that the AI is doing everything it can to pervert your vision into something unrecognisable, like a genie with your wishes.

Now the Lady-J picture, that was fast and required little skill or effort. I wanted Lady-J on a black motorcycle. Background wasn't important so it wasn't mentioned. No particular vision except a Terminator-style picture. Make sure it looked like Lady-J. This limited info was all I mentioned in the prompt, and this was the second or third image produced that was good enough. I usually have to do many more.

Often I have to keep it simple at first, then add in a feature or two, then change the location, then have the character doing something, like she is talking, so her mouth must be mid-word. Then turn her body slightly to one side or the other, then add the necklace that was missing, or get rid of an item she was holding that wasn't needed in that shot (a wand, for instance). Sometimes one picture takes over an hour and twenty to thirty attempts to get it right.

The Jane story used 12,000 credits on OpenArt over a couple of weeks. I actually ran out of tokens it used so many, and that was all images, no video. Hundreds of them. Even so, Willow is sometimes wearing her necklace, sometimes wearing a black choker, those are the things I missed. Many, many times her face changed so it wasn't Willow, close, but not her. She has a very distinct face, so when an image was complete I often had to redo it, asking just for her face to be swapped for one I uploaded, praying nothing else changed too. It's mind-numbingly hard.

So when people tell me things like it doesn't take much skill, or that it's just entering a prompt and it's automatically perfect — well, I know better.

Ten to one is a good ratio if you want your image to be anything like what's in your head. It always makes me mad when people say you don't need much skill, which is only true if you don't mind producing slop, or you're not willing to invest the time and money. Otherwise you need to be skilful at tricking the AI into producing what you need, or what you feel.

As you can tell, I've finished the week's work and have plenty of time to argue on the forum right now! 😀

Well i guess you have to learn the way Ai thinks to give it the right prompts, yeah i have issues with Ai a lot of the time and only use cheap free Ai.

Maybe we will have to begin to think like ai to use it, what i ment by skill is that i am not actually creating the scene Ai is. You need skill to be able to create drawings and paintings etc. Im just telling it what to create, maybe that does require prompt skill. I am not really an artist. I can only create stick people😆

It obviously dosent think the way we do ( Ai )

Are you lot spying on me? Had a similar debate at work today - is what AI creates art? We didn't agree but we did say it depends how much relation what AI produces bears to what you imagined. Then we drifted into is AI intelligent, had a debate where intelligence ends and sentience starts and finished up trying to decide if humans were intelligent or if some just made discoveries that we copied!

For me, I'm working on "The Taken" story right now, I already know in my mind the next few scenes that are going to happen. Willow calls her father so he can create a portal to New York where Jasmine is been held.

Why doesn't she teleport
you ask, because her teleport range is limited. She can ponly teleport a few minles and each teleport drains her mana. If she is in a foirest, she can draw magic from the trees and plants, that is what gives her magic. But like the regen brkes of an electric car, she uses magic much faster than she can restore it, so she will always run out sooner or later if she uses it heavily.

So her father instead of teleporting, does portals. you can have a portal to anywhere, so a trip around the earth is not a problem. He can even do a portal to other times, to other dimentions even. But he needs a longer time between portals to regenerate the magic back he usues. He is wearing magical items, such a necklesses and rings to help with regenerating, but it still take a few minutes from one portal to another even with those and plenty of plantlife. Teleport into a bad situation you have to wait for minutes before you can escape kind of thing.

So, to get back to the point, you DO need a story set mind to make the correct image(s) and have them look and interact in the correct way. Knowing how stories flow is also a big advantage. Claude is good at some of this, but as suggested it does thinks differtently to humans, so their storytelling left to themselves, kind of sucks to us humans. Nudged in the right direction now and then though, then claude can be outstandiung in its story telling.

The images I get from chatgpt image 2 and Nanabanna can be outstanding, but I still need to keep nudging it to match what I'm thinking. I don't always achieve exactly what i want, but 90%+ of the time I do, or its even better.
Prompt:
Willow, a young elf woman with long dark auburn hair and pointed ears, sits in an old leather armchair in a cosy little English study. The room is dim — curtains drawn over a dark window — but a small lamp above her casts a warm wedge of light down over her chair, with fine dust motes floating in the beam. An open book rests on her lap; she has paused reading and sits lost in thought, one hand on her chin, gazing into the middle distance. Filmed from slightly above, positioned in front of her chair. High-budget cinema camera, shallow depth of field, warm low-key lighting.
