Importing From the US...anyone have any experience with customs fees or shipping?

The attraction is not one of a Jimmy Savile extracurricular Leeds mortuary nature but more the chance to have a lightweight human looking companion I can actually live with as I have trouble forming relationships 😔 I have been juggling some figures around and very tempted to bite the bullet and go for it. I can actually afford Jess, but I have no idea of the process of shipping anything this large from the US and whether I can afford the shipping? (For the records, she stands about 5ft6ins tall and weighs about 15kg)

My question is then, i'm wondering if anyone has any experience of importing a doll from the US? I know if something like a Real Doll it would be a lot heavier than Jessica but any info on the process and rough costs would be ideal. (Every year her price goes up and I wonder if this year might be the last time I can do something about it...)

Put one in a shopping cart and go through the ordering process, but stop before clicking buy and it should tell you how much the shipping will cost.

Ask the vendor if tax is included in their shipping price (may not be and that can add another 20% or so - but the vendor might put on the paperwork that it’s not worth much to avoid import tax.)

I’ve bought plenty of things from USA, just the same as buying from any other foreign country. Not bought anything that big though.

Remember, you are the importer, so you are legally responsible for knowing the import laws of your country (not the vendor.) As long as it’s legal, no problem.

Not for me, it wouldn’t be very cuddly. I like to cuddle my dolls 🤗. And I also like to give them a big kiss 😘.

Jess is actually soft so that is important to me, as cuddling is my love language 😍 There's some amazing non-mannequin dolls out there now but even a TPE doll is too much for me to lift nowadays 😪 I was liasing with a guy with a Teddy Babe Deluxe on TDF in the UK which wouldn't have relied on me using credit to purchase as Jess would but he's gone radio silent, i've never heard of anyone refusing to have £250 cash in hand before and she is just cluttering up her attic otherwise apparently 🙄

There was a Teddy Babe deluxe for sale here only a week or two ago. She might have sold by now though., They occasionally do come up on the sales/wanted forum if you keep checking.

Having just looked at that website I now feel I have to squirt washing up liquid in my eyes and book in for some sort of therapy so I can “unsee” it.🤣

On a technical aspect I see the construction contains latex, I am not sure how good that would be as a cuddle friend and of course many people are allergic to latex.
As Jed suggests I would definitely look into Valentina Girls, Robert the guy who runs it will make you anything you can dream up and similar prices or cheaper than a TPE doll.

There are heavy import duties from the US. I imported Ickle Toaststool from there, the import duty hit hard and made an affordable doll into something very, very pricey. That was ontop of the postage. I could of bought a kimber doll with what it cost in the end!

Yeah i would give Valentina Girls a try. They can make any type of lady or man you want.

Tbey can make a gothic type companion or vampire or Zombie or virtually anything. They are very soft and cuddly and you can design the face you want. I have three of them, you are the designer, they are the creators.

I sleep with one of my ladies, she helps me to sleep actually. I also have a gorgeous curvy black girl. You can have a slim, curvy or big companion. They are also very lightweight and weigh nothing virtually.

Also they dont damage easily and i can be heavy handed. After i lost my job ( my company went bust ) i was depressed and Coco my Black lady helped me through with lots of hugs it eased my depression, just spending an hour in Cocos arms being cuddled.

I do a lot of importing of dolls, mostly from Japan but I have had one from the US. Before I go any further, the dolls I import are ball jointed fashion dolls. I clicked your link but it returned a 404 error so I can't see what it is you are interested in.

Anyway, there's 2 taxes to pay, import VAT at 20% and also import duty which iirc is around 4 to 5% but it can vary depending on the commodity code (basically a code for what it is). Anything below the value of £135 will dodge the 20% VAT. Things marked as a gift will get hit with the 20% VAT if it is above £39 so avoid having things marked as gifts.

The shipping company will calculate the taxes and then bill you for them and also add on a nice handling fee for doing this. Usually its £10-£20 depending on the shipping company.

It's quite a painless process, just order as normal and tell them where to ship it and the courier will just bill you for the taxes and deliver it.

This is my fear...I can actually afford Jess, that's not the problem, but the insane shipping and import costs worry me and I can't find out exactly without going some way into the ordering process and i'm terrified that i'm going to get charged for something I can't actually afford to ship 😪 It's absolutely bonkers really, I have bought stuff, much much smaller items from the US and Canada in the past but the shipping difference between the neighbouring countries is chalk and cheese! 🙄 and it's only the US that make anything like this...

I told the seller to basically *please* get a hurry on as I am swapping my main car for a two seater Smart, which I have just done today, so if I pick one up, they're getting the passenger seat covered in a sheet! 😜

You should be able to access it now. I believe 20 posts is the magic number.
However the Teddy Babe that was for sale there is no longer listed so she must have sold. It was Jed's doll named Summer Blue.

Jed had his two Teddy Babe Deluxes listed at one point.
Amber (the newer of the two) went to live with Sally and Sarah (J’s ladies).
Then Summer was too sad to leave, and Jed found that he couldn’t let her go because she’s the second oldest lady here and he loves her.
So, she’s not for sale any more.

But Cloud Climax sell Teddy Babes and so if you buy from them, they might have some in stock already in the UK, but they can import them from the US and so you pay one single price to them and everything is covered.
