Disposing of a doll at your local Recycling Centre

This is exactly how I have disposed of old dolls in the past. Remove the silicone or TPE from the metal skeleton first, then place in black household waste bags. Metal skeleton folded up and straight into waste metal skip. Quick and easy.

We had a post made earlier last year where the owner showed the doll being dismantled and the nature of the photographs made it very disturbing and upsetting. Not all of us find it easy to take apart a doll that we have been fond of, but which has had its day - which is why we have discussed other means of disposal.
Ideally, of course, there might be somebody who would like to have the Doll if it’s advertised, regardless of its condition - they might use it to practice repairs on their own dolls, or even use it for parts or spare TPE, again for damage repair. But when there’s no other option and the doll has to be disposed of, we need to find ways that we can cope with ourselves, and dismantling is not for everyone.

I must admit, I've thrown away perfectly good dolls. People might think I'm bad for doing this but the thought of my doll going to someone else and her being mistreated is something I don't want. And dolls know that they only have limited longevity - like those Replicants in Blade Runner. I think when their time is up at a nice home, they would rather be ended.

When times up for one of my girls, I'd rather cut her up into little pieces, than see her go somewhere, where her fingers get broken, she ends up covered in cuts, feet ripped to shreds, or dirty. I struggle to understand how some dolls get in such a state they do. I've got dolls here with me that are going on 6 years old, and they are still like in perfect condition (and they are enjoyed enthusiastically too - Melina is a great example.)

I've been to the recycling centre more than once. If someone wants me to cut their doll up, I'd do it for a suitable fee (but it would be a high fee, because it is time consuming.)

I joked with the lads at my local recycling centre, and they said they had a few sex dolls and said its no problem, they even told me what days they were working so they could help me discretely dump it, she has never been used except for photography and is worth about £400, but i do not have the time to advertise her

I understand what you mean but it still feels sad that a perfectly OK doll will go to landfill when she could have a second life in a new home with someone …………..

I agree. Always better to try and find a new home. But sometimes when perhaps there’s a lot of damage to the doll, taking it to a recycling centre is the only option because nobody else wants it. But even in such circumstances, it’s still worth keeping the head in case you change your mind in future and you can buy a new body.

BTW as Mr Story said the sales section on here is readily available free and VERY easy to use - even I can do it ! Probably takes about 10 minutes to take a few clear photos and upload them- certainly less time than a typical trip to the local recycling centre.
