20. Alien Invasion – Day 3 - Sasquatch
As Amilie and Misty watched the alien saucer come ever closer, their breaths became shallow. The only sound was the hum of the alien craft. Suddenly, Amilie heard a rustling noise coming from a dark corner of the mill.
Amilie: “Who’s there?”
Misty: “Quiet! You want them to find us?”
Amilie: “But I heard something”
Misty: “It’s probably just a raccoon or a Fisher. … and they’re not gonna answer you back.”
The saucer hovered there for what seemed like forever.
Amilie: “Are they ever going to do something? … They’re making me nuts.”
Misty: “Why don’t you invite them over for tea?”
Eventually, the saucer’s hum turned into a very loud whirring noise. Then, as quick as a flash, it ascended and disappeared into the clouds.
The girls stepped from their hiding places. Amilie scanned the dark corners of the mill looking for the source of the noise.
Misty: “That was a close one.”
Amilie: “You think?”
Amilie (shouting): “I know you’re there. … Come out, now!”
Misty: “Oh my God. It’s Sasquatch! … You caught Sasquatch!”
Amilie: “Sasquatch isn’t real. We caught us an alien. …. That’s why they were here. They we looking for him.”
Misty: “Oh God no! You are not going to kill him are you?”
Doctor Zaius, had spent years studying humanity’s rise — and its fall. Thus, knowing what a violent species humans are, he begins to tremble in fear.
Zaius: “Please, please, don’t kill me.”
Misty: “Look. He can talk. English too. … He is not an alien. Maybe he escaped from a circus.”
Amilie: “Circus apes don’t talk.”
Zaius: “Please, let me tell you who I am.”
Amilie: “Ok. Sit down.”
Zaius: “I am from Earth but not from your time. I come from a world roughly a thousand years in your future. I am here by accident. I was testing an experimental craft and I must have hit a worm hole which pulled me back through time. I crash landed in a lake nearby.”
Amilie: “Ok. But you don’t look like us. What are you then?”
Doctor Zaius was not about to reveal the dark secret of humanities destiny.
Zaius: “Let’s just that apes have evolved a bit in 1000 years and leave it at that.”
Misty: “Why didn’t come to us for help. My family lives nearby.”
Zaius: “When I was a boy, my father brought home a movie from the ancient archives called ‘King Kong.’ I believe it was from you time. … I remember that the story did not have a very good ending. I did not want to take a chance ending up as a circus attraction like Kong so I have been hiding in the woods, avoiding humans, since the day I arrived.”
Misty: “That is really sad but we would have put you up and kept you hidden.”
Zaius: “Thank you. But I think it is better this way. If you don’t mind, I would like to go now.”
Amilie: “Sure. Good luck. And don’t worry. Your secret is safe with us.”
Misty: “Let’s go look for my parents. It’s not far.”
Amilie: “Ok. Lead the way.”
Misty: “Hey Amilie.”
Amilie: “What?”
Misty: “Did you believe his story?”
Amilie: “A little farfetched don’t you think?”
Misty: “About as farfetched as sharing a candy bar with Sasquatch.”
Amilie: “I am going to tell Addie that we had lunch with Sasquatch.”
Misty: “No. You can’t. We are supposed to keep the secret.”
Amilie: “C’mon. Do you really think Addie is going to believe me?”
As the two girls slipped away into the sunlit forest, Dr. Zaius slowly walked from the half‑darkness of Widow’s Mill, heart pounding. In all his centuries of study, he had devoured every record of human triumph and tragedy—but found no hint of an alien assault in the dusty annals of Earth’s past. Now, having seen the hovering saucer, he wondered with a chill: perhaps it was not humanity alone that fell long ago, but an invasion much like this one—an ending written not by human hands, but by visitors from beyond the stars.

The writing of the entire Alien Invasion series has been completed. The bad news however is there are tons of pictures that need to be taken, several for each chapter. But due to Pex's work load, he won't be able to resume Alien Invasion pics until mid-March

That's not necessarily a good thing. Victoria is not exactly like the rest of us...
