Hi guys, I'm finishing work a little earlier today as it's been pretty quite, because of the rain today.

I'm meeting me outside my work and then we are walking to Dominos, together as it's my turn to choose, and they say romance is dead🤣🤣🤣

Well we've all eaten our Pizza and are quite content. I picked the Texan BBQ with a twist, pineapple instead of Pepper. We are now going to watch The Omen 2 we watched the first one last night and Bobby is going to get us an ice cream on sticks from the freezer that he tried to de-ice today😁 i can't always afford Gelato from my parlour, even though I get a discount

Hagan Daz cookies and cream, I like them and they were on special in Sainsburys😋

Catch you laters👋

Here is a recipe that you might like:

🍔 BBQ Pineapple Burgers (American Fusion Style)

🔥 What You’ll Need (4 servings)
🥩 For the Burgers
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns (brioche or potato rolls recommended)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar or pepper jack (optional)
  • Butter for toasting buns

🍍 For the Pineapple
  • 4 pineapple rings (fresh preferred, canned okay)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
  • Drizzle of oil or melted butter

🧄 For the BBQ Sauce (or use store-bought)
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice (from the can or fresh)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of cayenne (optional)
  • Simmer 5–10 mins until thickened

🧅 Optional Toppings
  • Crispy bacon strips
  • Red onion (grilled or raw)
  • Lettuce
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Mayo or chipotle aioli

🔪 Instructions
1. Make the BBQ Sauce
  • In a small pot, mix all sauce ingredients.
  • Simmer on medium-low for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and glossy. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Pineapple
  • Brush pineapple rings with a mix of brown sugar, chili powder, and oil.
  • Grill on high heat (or stovetop grill pan) for 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized grill marks form.

3. Shape and Grill the Burgers
  • Divide beef into 4 patties; press a small thumb dent in each to prevent puffing.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Grill or pan-fry 3–4 minutes per side, adding cheese in the final minute if using.

4. Toast the Buns
  • Butter the insides of the buns and toast face-down on the grill or skillet until golden.

5. Assemble
Layer each burger as follows:
  • Bottom bun
  • BBQ sauce
  • Lettuce (optional)
  • Burger patty with melted cheese
  • Grilled pineapple ring
  • Crispy bacon (if using)
  • Red onion slices or jalapeños
  • More BBQ sauce
  • Top bun

🍟 Serve With
  • Sweet potato fries
  • Grilled corn
  • Coleslaw
  • Ice-cold lemonade or a citrusy IPA

They’re not currently published as once the sales dropped to zero, I unpublished them via Amazon KDP.
Both were ‘Hotwife’ novels. The second was part one of what was supposed to be a trilogy, but then I didn’t have the time to carry on with it and so parts two and three were never written.
It’s a very specific genre and I think I sold about six thousand copies of each.
Bought me a new car anyway 😁

Oooh that sounds interesting Hanna😋 I'll have to tell Bobby about the recipe and he can help me make some on one of my afternoons off.

I'm afraid I can't leave Bobby to make them, we will end up with charcoal burgers🤣🤣

Never heard of potato rolls though, have they got bits of potato in them?

Well I guess if its 4 servings it's one each for the 3 of us and Bobby and Coco will have to share the fourth one

Thanks Hanna😁

Oooh😯 Bobby isnt an avid reader, but he probably would have read your ebook. He would of just flipped to the naughty parts though😯🤣🤣

He used to like James Herbert Books like the Rats Trilogy and the Fog, apparantly they tried to make a film of the Fog, but it was rubbish

He also liked Shaun Hutson, who was very similar to James. He wrote The Slugs

Maybe I should start reading again I used to read a lot when I lived with Jed I liked Fantasy books, like Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter😁

Morning all! Well we saw the Omen 2 & 3 The final conflict last night. Didn't watch the remake of the Omen or Omen The Awakening, Bobby says they are not great, but did tells us all for the 10th time that they filmed some of the first one at Winsor Safari Park, which is now Legoland and that they filmed at his beloved Guildford for the Cathedral shots.Well something good has to come from there🤣🤣

Well it's not raining yet, so it might be busier today. It was pretty boring yesterday at work, but I was allowed to make myself a free Sundae in the afternoon. I managed to squeeze 4 scoops in to a sundae glass, but don't tell Bobby or Coco😯 I also had ice cream for desert at home.

I also had to eat Cocos bits of pineapple, off her pizza, she doesn't like pineapple. I don't mind any fruit, but not all fruit goes well on pizza, unless it's a desert pizza with nutella and bananas😋

Well I'm off to make some coffees bye for now👋

Potato rolls are soft, fluffy bread rolls made with mashed potatoes or potato flour mixed into the dough—similar to potato bread but shaped as individual rolls instead of a loaf. They're especially popular for burgers, sliders, and dinner rolls because of their pillowy texture and slightly sweet, buttery flavor.

Just like potato bread, potato rolls tend to stay fresher and softer longer thanks to the moisture from the potatoes. They may also have slightly more nutrients (like potassium and vitamin C), a bit less gluten, and a touch more resistant starch, which can help with satiety and digestion.

Probably not, unless you find an American section in Tesco, Sainsburys have started an American section, but its bloody expensive! Mainly jars of Dinos Hot dogs and jumbo marshmallows and some American breakfast cereals and sweets

Maybe Lidls or Aldi might sell them or online. I'll have a look next time we are in Sainsburys, as they might be interesting to try. I have heard that most American bread is sweetened, not like our bread in the UK

Well I've had a look online and Tesco and Sainsburys don't stock potato bread or rolls, I did find these online £6.99 for 12 rolls
Anyway not very busy again today due to the rain this afternoon. Bobby popped in for his weekly visit on his own, while his relatives went to the pub. But Bobby doesn't drink and prefers a nice Sundae to a pint of beer. We are watching something light hearted tonight comedy, only fools and horses.

I don't think the hot dogs do, I like proper American hotdogs, not a sausage in a roll and then they call it a hot dog.

But the rest you are probably right. I remember trying a retro Pepsi from Mr. Simms the sweet shop in town imported from America, cost me around £3.50. I like sweet things, but I couldnt drink it, there was so much sugar in it

Morning, yes Bobby is indeed off to Guildford again, I just think we should all move up there, be cheaper in the long run🤣🤣

Well it's raining again, what a shocker! Well it won't be very busy if it continues at the Gelato parlour. I guess I might get some quiche orders and folk wanting coffees, but not many people eat ice cream in this weather, except Bobby and Coco.

Well I better give Bobby a big kiss and let him get off the the station and make myself a coffee

👋 for now

Certainly worth a try. It is probably the same. For soft bread and buns, potato can't be beat. Warning: You'll never go back to "plain white bread."

But if it costs too much or you can't find it locally. You can make it yourself fairly easily...

🥔 Potato Rolls with Premade Dough & Instant Mash
Yield: ~8 medium rolls
Prep Time: 20 min (plus rise)
Bake Time: 15–20 min

Ingredients
  • 500 g premade bread dough (e.g., Jus-Rol, Aldi, Tesco fresh dough)
  • 30–40 g instant mash flakes (e.g., Smash, Tesco, Harvest Morn)
  • 15 g soft butter or 1 tbsp neutral oil (optional)
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp warm water (as needed)
  • Melted butter for brushing (optional)

Instructions
  1. Bring dough to room temperature if chilled.
  2. Flatten dough slightly on a clean surface.
  3. Sprinkle instant mash flakes evenly over the dough.
  4. Add optional ingredients (butter, sugar, salt) if using.
  5. Knead by hand or mixer for 5–8 minutes until smooth.

    • If dough is dry, add warm water 1 tbsp at a time.
    • If sticky, dust with plain flour.
  6. Cover and let rest 15–20 minutes to hydrate the mash.
  7. Divide into 8 equal pieces (~60 g each). Shape into rolls.
  8. Place rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment.
  9. Cover loosely and let rise 30–45 minutes in a warm place.
  10. Bake at 180–190°C (fan 170°C) for 15–20 minutes until golden.
  11. Optional: Brush with melted butter while warm for soft crusts.

Storage
  • Keep in an airtight container up to 3 days.
  • Freeze after baking for longer storage—reheat gently.
