70s & 80s TV Shows That You Loved

Jed was once in an episode of Casualty. He found it was quite funny that it was the Christmas episode and yet he and his friends were in shorts and short-sleeve shirts in bright sunshine on hills that were lush and green because it was the height of summer when it was filmed! 🤣

Yes; it was on the stv player for a while but has got taken off. J told me it didn’t get off to a good start. Was scheduled just when the big 1979 itv strike started so really didn’t take off. Tony Osaba gave up a bigger roll in the porridge feature film which was being filmed at the same time but it sort of flopped. Loved the opening credits. “Immmmmmm back” lol.

lol J is a big anorak when it comes to old tv trivia. One thing he loves!

Me either. Yuk... I went on a fishing trip once with a few friends. Didn't catch anything, but one of my buddies whips out a tin of spam and proceeds to cook it over our campfire on a shovel! 🙄

Well he did tell me that the batter was so hard on the fritters that you could use them as frisbees🤣🤣

Oh yes Buffy, Joe's been watching Fawlty Towers since he was a teenager. We now have the series on DVD and watch it regularly.
That and Keeping up Appearances are two of are favourites to watch an episode of just before bedtime.
We like to go to bed laughing.

No we haven't seen that one yet. However, after you guys were sharing clips of it in another thread, we've been looking for a good deal on the DVD set.

I love nearly all of those shows.
I will show you how old I am - I actually remember listening to the very first episode of The hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy when it began as a radio 4 series.
Radio four had a Wednesday night 10:30 pm half hour slot which had not been filled. They had just a matter of months to fill it and so somebody said to Douglas Adams, who was one of their producers at the time, “You’re always telling us daft and funny stories, write something for that slot for six weeks. And hence was born “The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy”. I was in my second or third year of secondary school at this point (1977/78) and a friend of mine and myself we listened to it and we just thought it was absolutely brilliant. When the book came out, I took it into an exam room when I didn’t have an exam, but I still had to go to the room because they were other exams going on. I got told off by the teacher because I was laughing too much at the book! I still prefer the radio series to the TV series and the movies, because it leaves so much more to the imagination.
