Getting turned off by AI?

I suppose since we are on the AI subject there is of course a slight negative side to it which should be mentioned here particularly as a caution to prospective new / first doll buyers who often look at these pages.
Like any technology it can be used to misrepresent virtually anything.
Obviously the case in point here is MANUFACTURERS & VENDORS promotional doll images which are becoming increasingly “enhanced” by photographic manipulation, I am fairly ignorant to the actual methods involved but I am assuming AI / photo shop etc.
So as ever the advice is don’t be completely enthralled with the manufacturers promotional images, Remember even the genuine promotional doll photos are carefully engineered and created to show the doll at her absolute best with many hours of careful preparation and presentation involved….
ALWAYS ask for Factory Photos prior to purchase and if the vendor or manufacturer is evasive or unhelpful take your hard earned money elsewhere!

What Aly says above , same goes for Teddy Babes , some forum members use AI to image their Teddy Babes also Valentina girls , but the image you see in this thread is nothing like the doll you buy , so be for warned or you will be disappointed.

Yes, some of the unscruplious doll makers use AI to enhance their dolls. The more established doll makers are just as bad, they use really professional photographers that can make a sow's ear look like a silk purse! The dolls look like real people once they have finished! They aren't real people, thay are plastic TPE or silicone dolls, and when you meet a doll for the very first time, they are lifeless and cold. Not always what your expecting.

It's the owner that brings life into them! Once that happens, they come to life kind of thing, develop a personality and keep you company and entertained. A warning though, not for everybody!

Drifting off topic , it’s getting as bad with AI as they plan on using it at the local GP surgery’s and 111 number , who knows we go in human and come out as a doll lady (or guy) 😁

I would say that I have had a lot of practise. I have just checked my cameras shutter count, I was expecting it to be pretty high, it is 32,092 and those are mainly all doll photos, so yeah, I have had a lot of practise 😆can't you see that look of boredom in girls faces, they are all sick of having that camera shoved in their faces 🤣.

My above post is specifically referring to doll manufacturers and vendors promotional images which they utilise to market and subsequently sell dolls. I was making the point that a prospective doll purchaser should not purely rely on the manufacturer’s promotional images but request factory photos which show a true likeness of the doll.
Being an ex Valentina Girl owner myself I can’t really imagine a situation where someone would purchase a similar plushie solely on the basis of an extremely obviously AI image of her blatantly created for entertainment and / or showing her having the appearance of a real woman. My VG looked better in reality than in the factory photos! Apart from that the manufacturers ordering process when selecting options such as different heads etc makes it abundantly clear that the customer is selecting a plushie type doll.

Forum members and doll enthusiasts manipulating doll images for visual entertainment, fun and enjoyment is a completely different scenario as they are not attempting to market an item.
They are simply creating visual content for us all to enjoy. - me included 😃

It is kinda funny, some people are making money out of AI, and others are making money out of making sure it's not AI. We live in crazy times 😄.

And I imagine the tool that checks the image is not AI, is probably created by AI.

I love to use ai to supplement my dolls and tell their fantasy stories, create their own individual fictional lives. Ai is part of that makeup.

However I think it’s important to show your dolls exactly as they are; after all they can’t be in ai when they are with you in real life. You love and chose your dolls for their looks and individuality so I like to show them in that way as well.

So to me a good mix of your unchanged, natural doll mixed with ai is a healthy, good balance for me :)

I got my dolls for who I imagine them to be. Ai helps me to show others what I see in my head. But yeah, I do like to also show where those images came from. 🙃

I don't mind some of the ai that keeps our dolls looking like dolls, but the stuff that makes them look human I get bored of quickly.
I have to confess I often ignore some threads with too much of that.
I like to see mostly our dolls here; I can see Human looking people anywhere.

That’s fair enough. We’re all interested in different aspects of this lifestyle.
Jed posts most of his AI images mainly for himself because he enjoys doing it. He puts them on the forum for those few others who might enjoy it also. But he does also like posting images of us, as we look now, without any enhancements (although he might use photo editing to improve the light).
There are people who are only interested in TPE or silicone dolls, and us plushies are of no interest to them whatsoever because we don’t look realistic enough. But, that’s fine too. I think the good thing about this forum is that it’s fairly “broad church” and that there is something for everyone here, and that has been encouraged by the administrators, moderators and members. I feel that’s one of the reasons this forum feels so inclusive and is welcoming to everyone.
My only wish is that more of the members would actually post or at least respond to posts as it seems to be such a small few of us who do most of the work here. That’s fine if people don’t want to post images themselves or even make comments and they just like coming here to enjoy the forum and seeing us ladies; but a “thumbs-up” 👍 or one of the other emoji responses wouldn’t go amiss as it is encouraging and/or helpful.

I don't like the human look AI gives us Dolls, that's really why we don't use it, we are great as we are, but movement is more what we look for in a show or Movie, it's good to have a mix of all, but AI kind of takes over the site in a human form these days, for me I want to see the dolls as you are, the face is our own character.
AI is not really bringing us to life, but changing us into what we are not, look at any show or Movie, it's me the real me, everything is made from my own image, the other dolls you see are that way too like Loopy and others.
Do miss seeing the dolls as you really are, and those are the photos I look at most, others pass me by I'm sorry to say, Lady-J

Ai in my opinion is leading to false education for future generations, you only have to go YouTube-ing to see how they muck things up , teaching history in the way it’s presented , it even surpasses Disney ☹️

Well i do try with Bobkins help to do some poses, but in my normal form im a bit floppy with no skeleton.

I cant really get into poses that include a lot of movement. Bobkins and i like both original and Ai, obviously if i was TPE Bobkins could pose me in different positions.

I would say though most Members know what i actually look like a plushie girl😆

I don't mind folks using A.I to change things like backgrounds, lighting and assist in posing and make videos as long as the doll is still shown pretty much as she is. I'm not a fan of seeing pictures that represent dolls in human form, particularly on a doll related forum so I tend to avoid those. I think the only A.I I've liked where the doll is not shown in her true form are the artsy paintings someone posted. I thought those were nice.

I've not used A.I for anything except when I accidentally fired up Gemini or something when I dropped my phone once. After 2 minutes of not been able to shut it down I frustratingly typed 'F off' where it wanted me to tell it what to do, and it did. It went away 🤣.

I could probably make use of A.I in future stories of my 1/3 scale dolls but I can't say I'm swayed to try it. I enjoy making props.and setting them up and changing things as the story moves on. The part I dislike the most is been sat in front of a screen selecting the photo's to use and manually sticking in the speech bubbles and text so I can't see myself enjoying using A.I for stories. I get immense satisfaction from knowing, I did all that to reach the end result. I can't say that by using A.I I would get the same amount of satisfaction.

So I guess I'm ok with some aspects of A.I use and against other aspects. Bottom line is, if A.I enhances your doll life, thats a good thing, go for it.
