Navigating the Ofcom Online Safety Act: Preparing Our Community
Let’s discuss the Ofcom Online Safety Act (OSA), which is now officially in effect. The primary objective of this legislation is to protect children from encountering harmful online content, including content found on forums like ours.
The law requires us to ensure that minors cannot access inappropriate material and mandates robust, legally compliant age verification measures. These verification services are generally provided by paid third-party systems.
Our Approach
We’ve been preparing for this transition over the past few months by gradually adjusting what can be publicly accessed. More explicit content is now securely placed within private forums that children cannot access—what we refer to as the Hot Chilli Sauce section. So far, this approach has been effective.
Next Steps
Moving forward, we will carefully review content outside of the Chilli sections to ensure it remains appropriate for general viewing. This includes:
• Relocating explicit photos and text describing sexual encounters or other adult themes.
• Permitting mild nudes, but anything more explicit must be moved to the private Chilli areas.
We will undoubtedly refine our approach as we continue to learn what’s required to comply fully with the new regulations.
Protecting the Community While Preserving Freedom
This process is not about banning content from the site altogether; rather, it’s about making sure that sensitive material is only accessible to those who meet specific criteria. After all, this is a site dedicated to adult doll enthusiasts. However, explicit content must be placed in sections where it is shielded from children and from those simply looking to be offended.
The Chilli Sections
To handle this, we’re dividing the Chilli section into two parts:
1. Mild Chilli Flavour – For typical nudes and slightly risqué posts, aimed at not offending most members.
2. Hot Chilli Sauce – Reserved for more explicit photos and descriptions.
To access these sections, members must meet the following criteria:
• Regularly post pictures of their dolls.
• Reach Member status (at least 20 posts).
• Additional proof of doll ownership may be required, such as submitting a photo of your doll holding a unique code .
Members can apply to join either the Mild Chilli section, the Hot Chilli Sauce section, or both, depending on their preferences and contributions.
