How come they’re so expensive? I think it is due to brand image but, more importantly, also because all the items are hand made.
It will certainly be interesting to see why they are so popular. Also, looking at the Smart Doll website, many of the clothes you can buy are super cute (although proportionally expensive).

So, maybe not the most rational decision, but I have finally took the plunge and purchased a pre-owned Smart Doll from eBay. She is due to arrive next week so more photos are to follow 😃

I would agree with many of the comments already listed, with weight being the crucial consideration. With dolls you also have the issue of “dead weight” in addition to the weight not being evenly dist...
