Did a little redesign of Meg's nether region today, so no pics. Nothing wrong with Valentina Girls as is, just they come with a lot of extra material down there to accommodate various inserts and I prefer a more natural look. I generally just tuck everything in and sew it down, but this time I decided to pull the factory setup out and start fresh.

Man I tell you, VG's are not designed to come apart. Took me several hours to remove all the double and reinforced stitching, but it turned out pretty nice. 😉

Hiya Mr Franz,

You’re so clever. A very talented artist. I want to give you a big hug 🤗.

If M3gan becomes a handful and starts killing everyone, give me a bell and I’ll come over to America and give her a good spanking to sort her out 🙂. M3gan likes me 🤗.

Lots of love from Miss K,

XOXO

Thanks, Akira. 😘

Well, Jyoti's the one wanted an M3GAN to play with. So if things go awry, blame 👉 her.

You could always make one. WM's 125cm isn't advertised much anymore, but it's still available upon request, as is the #77 head. Don't know how that size doll would go over as far as UK laws are concerned though. Maybe make a plush Jyoti with that head and a Valentina body...

I enquired about getting a Jyoti on a WM150B a while back and I was advised against it (the WM150B has very narrow shoulders like 29cm and Jyoti is a small head for a 125.) Would have been a nice light weight doll. 148 is supposed to be the UK minimum, but if Achmed or whoever is the UK Border Patrol person inspecting your doll, they might still cause trouble with dolls > 148.

I think the UK laws are stupid but we have to be thankful we don’t live in a Muslim country (yet.)

Actually, WM's head #77 is most often shown with their older 116cm body. Thing is, their 150B (slim) is a stretched version of the 116cm and is in fact, marketed with that head. I went through this whole thing when I got Jyoti back in 2017. At that time some vendors were telling me that the #77 head wouldn't work with the 125cm and that it was too small. Then along comes the 150B (slim) shown with that exact same head. It's a very nice combo.

I almost went with the 150B body, but the 125cm has a better proportioned figure and actually has a fuller waist. ;)

Ooookay... 🙄

Well here's Meg all inside out being fitted for her skeleton.
Went ahead and made her a pair of foot-plates out of some scrap plywood while I was at it. I usually just use dense foam for that, but I need them to be more rigid this time. Padded the heel and ball of the foot then covered the whole thing to keep the fabric from getting snagged when I put them in.
Well, what do you know? They work! Yeah I know, sloppy sewing job, but that'll all be stuffed inside.
Now I just need to modify the feet slightly to define and elongate the heel a bit. Afterward I'll go ahead and enhance the calves. VG offers an enhanced calf option as well, but I was going to mod the feet anyway so I'll just do it myself.

I take it your plushie creations are able to stand on their own and are more poseable than Valentina Girls Mr. Franz? Can you bend the legs and arms?

So far, Chance is the only one of my Valentina Girls that is fully articulate. I gave her a similar skeleton to this one. She can hold a pose on her own and even grasp objects. She is capable of standing, but I neglected to compensate for her semi-seated posture and she appears quite short. The one I'm working on now has both extended thighs and extended legs, as well as a better designed foot-plate. So hopefully she'll look better in an upright position.

Here's a shot of Chance dialing the phone. No props at all. She's posing completely on her own.

I see you still have the old phone, not the digital ones. Is she on the phone to an admirer?😁

That's the phone from my office. Still works great. Although, our service is internet based now, so you can't dial out with it. Chance eventually figured that out. ;)

Poor thing's nothing but skin... I mean, velour and bones. 😁
The good news is, I trimmed the leg bones to the right length this time and the foot plates I made yesterday fit perfectly. The bad news is, doesn't seem to be a viable way to get the stuffing down into her feet. The leg bones and foot plates are in the way. Looks like I'm going to have to open a seam on the side of each foot to get the fluff in there, then ladder stitch it closed. 🪡🧵

Turns out it wasn't as hard to stuff the feet as I thought. Opened up a seam about 2 inches on the side of each foot, pushed the fluff in a little at a time with my finger and closed the seam again using a modified blind stitch. That's a technique where you sort of sew on the inside from the outside.

It is, really. Hardest part is trying to thread the needle with these old eyes of mine. Well that and trying to work around the skeleton to get the stuffing in. Jeez.. talk about tedious! 😣

Thanks! That comes from my upbringing. We couldn't afford the things everyone else had, but we could make things they couldn't buy. Guess that's where my love for modifying things came from. Never thought about making a business out of it. Doing something because you want to is much more fun than doing it because you have to. 😉
