Actually, I just tried it again and it seems to be fine now

After weeks of trying, and spending the last few days soley on this proble, we fianally got all the pictures working on the new site. Its updated to yesterday posts aswell.

Glad it working now Jedze. The site has been in pieces the last couple of days trying to get these pictures sorted which may of influenced your sign in. Its a relief that its all done now :)

It will be the galleries next, but I have a lot of things coming up so that will slow me down. A little anyway LOL

Completes the search engine on new site. Just need to tidy it up a little. You should find most posts easy now, especilly if you have an idea of the title.

Starting on the Galleries today. These should be a big feature of the new website and look A LOT nicer thean on this site. A gallery every member, a galley every fourm, making finding photos from the past easier.

WOW my daughter has shown some line art for new group pictures, Wow!

Note, there are 26147 images on new site, all logged and tracked. No orphans images. Thats a lot of photos this forum has generated over the years LOL

Looks good. Is the gallery going to have public access? I ask because I noticed a few nude doll photos if you think that might be a problem. Also seems like the screenshot photos, where someone was just showing something on a page could be eliminated from the gallery.

It would literally take me hours and hours to go through all of the posts I’ve made since I’ve been on the forum. I really don’t have the time I’m so busy with work myself.
If any photos of my girls don’t appear, well there you go it doesn’t matter. I’m fed up with the fact that so few of us actually seem to be doing all the work of posting and responding when we have so many members.

Unfortunately, this is something all forums experience. Many members sign up and never make a single post. I’ll add it to my to-do list to check how many members have zero posts and look into whether we should automatically remove inactive accounts. I’ll report back with what I find and get your thoughts.

As for those who don’t take part, that’s their loss — we’re having fun, right? 😊 The site traffic is actually quite healthy, so we’re definitely getting views. In fact, I’m planning to introduce post view counts to the forum. Every time someone views a page, each post on that page will receive a view. To keep it fair, the same user can only add one view per post per day, unless a new reply is added to the thread, in which case they can register another view that same day. Hopefully that makes sense.

That’s a really good idea. I think inactive members should lose their membership after a certain period of time.

And having a view count is an excellent idea because even if members don’t make any response at least we know how many are actually visiting. There are times when some posts or threads get no responses at all and I wonder then if anybody’s actually seen them or if the post or thread has been missed or overlooked.

But the down side is that the forum looks smaller... Maybe half the membership would be lost?

Well, if they are inactive, what’s the point of them actually being members anyway? The forum might look smaller, but I don’t think that will deter people from joining when they see the fun that the rest of us are having. Hopefully, they’ll want to be a part of that.

I agree - There are times when I have posted something and it gets no response whatsoever- so then I wonder if I have done something wrong or offended someone (it is “The Internet” after all). Not that I expect everyone to agree with me or like what I say.. Or a maybe whatever I have posted must be hugely boring to the point where I shouldn’t even have done it at all as its just something clogging up a post.
Years ago when I first discovered doll forums I was probably a bit intimidated so only looked but didn’t post for a while as I didn’t think I knew enough about dolls to really contribute anything significant. Thinking back now it was probably on TDF which is seems like it can be a bit political and of course they rely on advertising for revenue so are rather strategic with restrictions on mentioning non participating businesses.
Having communicated with various new doll owners or potential doll owners I think some often are slightly apprehensive about joining in extensively as dolls can be regarded as a potentially embarrassing / sensitive subject. Of course everyone can be anonymous but it often seems to be a perception rather than a reality.
In some ways I still find it rather odd that we doll enthusiasts can sometimes be perceived negatively etc nowadays especially in a modern PC correct world that is mostly accepting if I suddenly declare I want to become non binary, change gender or behave as a cat - but that’s all another subject entirely………..

Yeah ive just had a look at the new forum, just curious to know are we having a profile page where we tell others about ourselves and the dolls tell others about themselves in their profile, like on here or is that finished with, obviously i know how much work you are putting into the new forum, and I'm just asking😊 also the profile gives age, Birthday, area Member/doll lives etc

Also I'm set up as a Moderator, not Naughty But Nice Member, obviously I'm not really a Moderator as such, except on my Thread about reviewing a doll. Where would i change my Membership status or is that being worked on ?

I just finished the gallery rules, meaning you can turn off getting imaged from the AI forum if you wish, and can turn off Mild and Hot chilli from your photos (you are showing someone all the dolls?)

This is true of the Latest Posts list too. Switches to turn on and off are all in each members and dolls settings page.

You can also alow all to see your own private member gallery, showing all the images you have uploaded to posts. Or you can just allow members, or just yourself, or nobody at all. You can also make private any of your own images on the galleries by clicking the x in the top corner of any of your pictures. Making a picture private hides it from ALL galleries. You can restore in your private gallery page accessed from "My Gallery."

Admins can also hide your images on any gallery. Say its just a randon image of a product page, or a pet or something that is not deemed suitable for the galleries. You can see exactly what they have made private in ypu My Gallery pages. You can't restore admin privates, but you can ask admin to restore it if you need to.

I think thats all with Galleries and the latest posts page.
