As far as Jed is concerned, he’s been reading through all of these posts and you might as well be speaking Hindustani! He doesn’t have the first clue what you’re all talking about as he’s not very knowledgeable about such technology. He wants to know why you have pictures of orphans on the forum? 😁

🤣🤣 yeah my ladies are probably more tech savvy than me Jemma. They even sussed out how to get on my phone, pass my security code, so i hide it now🤣🤣

To clarify what I meant by my previous post, let me show you by way of photo’s:

Here is the home page. All the forums are listed each showing the latest activity on the threads it contains, together with the number of threads within each forum.

Here are the threads in the Introductory Forum. There are 163.

If I come out of that and click on the Picture Perfect forum ….

….you can see all the threads within that forum (424) spread over many pages, each shows the latest activity. Scrolling down the page takes you back in time.

Back to the original/current site.

Scroll down to the Chilli section, look at the Mild Chilli, we can see there are 268 threads and 102 in the Hot Chilli….

if we click on the Mild Chilli….

….we find all 268 threads (and increasing) are grouped together, there are no forums to separate them. It is this I believe needs to change. Replicating most of the forum titles from the home page to here and moving the threads into those would make navigation (finding a particular thread) easier and more consistent with the rest of the site.

Your looking inside the Mild chilli forum with last picture. These are the threads in the forum, the latest threads at the top. The oldest thread would be on last page. If you clicked hot chilly on prievious page, you would get a list of all the threads in that forum instead. then finally you click on the thread you want to see and you will see all the post with pictures etc.

I might be a little slow to know what your after, but it starts with a list of forums, then when you click a forum you get a list of the threads within, then clicking on a thread the posts.

Just to let you know where I am with things:

I’ve moved the site to another domain to finish the build. It took two or three days to get everything working again. Thankfully the site wasn’t live during that time, otherwise it would have been down for a few days.

It’s looking great now. I’m finishing off the Thread page (renamed to the Topic page) to make it more stable and streamlined. The page is displaying perfectly, showing all images and posts from the database. Some pictures from back in 2022 are missing because we were using a different website then and they didn’t transfer properly to XenForo, which you already know about. All recent posts are fine.

I’m just refining the CSS to improve the look, especially the quotes, which have been a bit of a pain. The edit page and delete button are now working properly. The post editor is also in good shape: you can use bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, change font size, upload photos at the cursor position, drag them where you want, resize them, align left/right/centre, rotate if they upload sideways, and use smilies and GIFs. More features will be added later, like links, text alignment, and inserting images from URLs.

Next up is the member settings page, where you’ll be able to choose your colour theme and select which account to use (doll accounts). I’ll let you take a look soon. The site in the “mldf” folder will disappear once the new one goes public.

Spent the day tuning things so they work right, not a productive day at all, quite frustrating if anything. But images all upload fine now. Tomorrow is another day.

In new forum, everybody has a settings page. If you have doll accounts, they list up like this. Just click on the doll you want to roleplay and your that doll.

If your doll is not there, as a human there is another link at the bottom, + Link New Doll Account, clicking this allows you to link a doll account to yours, there will be a one time loging in using username a nd password! After that you just sign onto your doll account by clicking the button on the list. If you have a different theme colour for each of your dolls, then you should have a visual which doll you are currently playing. You will be able to make your own themes that everyone can see for your accounts!!!!!

I moved the new website to a new host site so its on the root instead of in a folder. I haven't released that version to you yet. I will soon.

Means absolutely nothing to me because I am totally ignorant of all things IT related.
But it sounds really great and if it means I can continue to look at and read about dolls then Fantastic and thanks very much for all your continued hard work in maintaining this forum. It is much appreciated by me and my girls. 🙏

OK the I'm opening the new forum for you to test. If you can't sign in, you'll need to create a new password using the lost password link on login screen. Thats because passwords are incrypted and don't travel from one forum sysytem to another. So make a new password and test your setting page. If you doll accounts aren't already there, you can join them by signing in their username and password. Then they will add inside your setting page. Clicking on a doll and you are the doll!

Here is the new website. Explore and test and let me know your findings.

I have managed to sign in and also have accounts for Nicole and Willow but not Bailey-Jane. If I create a new account for her will her existing posts be lost?
It all looks good. Will we be able to see new posts? Somewhat disappointingly we all become 'New Members' or 'Starter Dolls' having lost our seniority and status.

There are some nice touches, like the top threads and top post easily visible on each members profile.

I assume you are still working on getting the images/attachments sorted? There are a lot not displaying.

No self-respecting cat should have to endure such an insult :P

You can link Bailey yourself in your setting. Just click link new doll account, it will open a login in box where you put in your dolls username and password. Once you do that it will add her to your family

You have not lost your staus, its all there in the data base, I just haven't got round to doing the promotions yet. I will get there, thers still so much work to do. I am currently working on the message system.

Yes its a nightmare loading posts from other forums, its was a nightmare last time I did it and it is this tiome too. I have done the first three forums and on the 4th so far, it very time consuming but I'm doing it when I usully just watch youtube, have youtube in the background so to speak.

Just check it, but it shoud be done now? Matt is a doll though :( Hope he can get past that LOL) At least for now.

All seems to be working well. Buffy and Thea are actually with Bobby now. So could you transfer those two accounts to him?
Also, the latest account for ‘The Petite Posse’ and the account for Lorna, aren’t there.

Mine was in my spam folder.

If its not in your spam, then said me a new email and then you can try again wuth bnew email.

I have tried using both Bailey-Jane's original password and my new password and I am advised 'Incorrect password for the doll account'.

Do you know when the ' new ' forum goes live Mr. Story?
